  2. There's also the jagoffs who flip out over the idea of everyone getting some kind of trophy. Calm down, you shaved apes; most of those kids hate that they're being made to do this, and a little hunk of plastic for them at the end of it isn't the end of the [expletive] world.
  3. Baseball (and really any sports) jerseys are so damn expensive that I can't imagine buying one for a current player unless he's a slam dunk legend. I ended up just getting a Santo when I finally did get one because I wanted to make sure it would always be relevant. I don't think that really matters too much unless it's something really dumb like getting a Theriot or Barney or even Fukudome jersey. It's completely subjective, but those are the ones that stick out to me; if I see someone with a Soriano jersey, or Prior's, or Castro's in a few years it's just like, "oh, that's that player that was actually really awesome for the Cubs."
  4. Definitely. Being the AL makes it even easier to root for that. I hope the Yankees have many, many years of never going to the WS with an awesome Starlin Castro kicking ass.
  5. Thank goodness for sample size.
  6. I really hope he's able to keep up some momentum despite the change in scenery; he really seemed to have figured something out once he was moved off of SS and was just such a blast to watch for the last 2+ months of the season. Good Starlin was always one of the most fun players to watch for me.
  7. Not too many options to upgrade this year without having to pay several more limbs' worth, so we stuck with our current seats. Right now we're on the 1B side, just past the visitor's bullpen and by one of the tunnels (which goes directly out to the main entrance).
  8. after the last trade that stewart made, i have no doubt that his phone has been ringing red hot from teams asking what it would take to pry away bradley. I remember back in high school there was a vending machine in the cafeteria that one day, inexplicably, started dispensing five or six sodas at a time instead of one. Word got out, and there was a rush on the thing until it was empty. That's probably something like what is going on with Stewart right now. This seems a bit more apt:
  9. He's probably pretty lazy, what with being a big dude and all, so I'll say missionary.
  10. But Chicago teams already have a funky diabetic.

  12. I thought this thread was going to be about some kind of terrible vendetta the Chinese have against gooney and his family.
  13. I'll donate the rest myself if Tim drinks a bottle Malort instead and films it.
  14. THIS IS WHAT CORRUPTS SKYNET, YOU FOOL!
  15. Derwood doubling down today.
  16. It will be on the first floor of a building that will not have that large of a footprint. Maybe it won't be directly linked to the hotel, but it will effectively be there. It will have a street facing main entrance but I would not be surprised if they also an option for hotel guests to go straight in there from the lobby. Lots of hotels with restaurants attached operate that way. It's still going to leave a massive cloud of greasy air for the guests to live in, regardless of where the entrance is. Also, I think they're using the word "boutique" very liberally here. I think David is going to end up in a very Howard Hughes-esque situation in that hotel.
  17. Sooo no McDonald's next season A hotel infested with the stench of McDonald's? Yeeeesh. Seriously, that hotel is going to be a dump. You can't have a freaking fast food restaurant in your lobby. Yeah, it was already a lock to quickly become a dump with a baseball stadium and [expletive] Wrigleyville right next door; this is just an especially rank cherry on top.
  18. Sooo no McDonald's next season A hotel infested with the stench of McDonald's? Yeeeesh.
  19. Everything about the Cubs is so honkie-fied lately, and that pic just might be the honkiest.
  20. The poop is just an offering to how much his sage wisdom nourishes them or something.
  21. Is this an attempt at a funny? Or do you not know they signed Greinke and have Patrick Corbin? lmao greinke is the pastry chef is SCS's kitchen. corbin is the bellboy Beautiful.
  22. Wasn't that actually in Pittsburgh? I remember it not being one of his walkoffs, but it was the go-ahead RBI he drove in they they ended up winning off of. Either way, it was great.
  23. Can't speak for that since I'd rather eat a big bowl of bullets instead of hockey, but plenty of the Bulls and Cubs games I watched on CSN had visual and/or audio issues on a somewhat regular basis.
  24. The answer was there all along.
  25. nope. never happened I'm impressed with David's video forgery program.
