  1. Who knew plugging in a USB or AUX cable was such a time-consuming dealbreaker.
  2. Yeah, I thought David was the only weirdo here who willingly subjected himself to sports radio on anything resembling a regular basis.
  3. Jay's kids look and sound like adorable Dicksensian street urchins straight from the workhouses.
  4. That bloc of ESPN late afternoon shows is always on a bunch of the TV's in my office. If I tried to change it I'd probably be killed.
  5. Le Batard is pretty smart by sportswriter standards Yeah, I think he's pretty good, relatively speaking. Easily one of the most entertaining/listenable talking heads on ESPN these days. He's nowhere near being as bad as Cowherd.
  6. With polio or whooping cough?
  7. Read the book Entangled in Ivy if you haven't. I know some people don't like George Castle as an author, but its a pretty good look into the Tribune Ownership and MacPhail FO through the 90's and early 2000's. Will give it a whirl. Hopefully it's on Kindle. Thx. LOL side note: Goerge Castle now writes for that sports mockery blog hahahahahahahahha The only saving grace of that [expletive] show is that they don't have a comments section.
  8. So, yeah, tolerate them. Owners should be like managers; unless they're REALLY good, I kind of just want to forget that they're there.
  9. Yeah, most of my good feelings towards the Cubs right now are due to the FO; the Ricketts are just sort of there, building hotels that will smell like McDonald's grease.
  10. I am currently tolerating the Ricketts.
  11. I don't get it; she asked which of the Cubs' gifs is his favorite and he said the "it's magic" one. Where's the pedo part?
  12. [expletive], he is ridiculously good-looking.
  13. If your favorite player is ever a kicker...you're doing it wrong.
  14. They fought and kept it close and could have won pretty easily; if they have to lose, I appreciate that almost all of their losses have been like that. Next year they're gonna flip it, dammit.
  15. Gould is a true hero falling on his sword like this. I raise my glass to you, Robbie.
  16. was this posted in a 3 point game with like 8 minutes left (and the bears having just completed two longish pass plays - i think this came before that bubble screen check on 3rd down)? so much unnecessary scorn 6 million forms of communication he could have chosen from and he chose...salty.
  17. http://i.giphy.com/VuWtVHkMjrz2w.gif
  18. I have no idea who this person, but he should go by "Brettel Dredge" from now on since that's how I read his name.
  19. I just think between the defense and the injuries RF is going to be too much of a question mark with Soler even though I expect him to be pretty solid offensively. I'm not losing sleep over them sticking with him right now, but I wouldn't mind if they still end up trading him.
  20. The "everybody gets a trophy" complainers are annoying. It's pretty simple to differentiate a trophy that has been given for winning and for participation. It's not ruining anyone's life and at most it goes into a memory book or something. They act like its new or that it's unique to this generation. We got participation trophies in soccer in the early 80's...this isn't a new thing Yeah, they've been around forever. No kid is thinking, "gee, I'm just as good as the kid/team that won the BIG trophy;" they all know what a participation trophy is. For the most part I sucked at playing sports and had a huge collection of participation trophies. All I ever thought was, "hey, it's kinda cool I got a little trophy I can put on my dresser" and they would remind of the teams I actually enjoyed being on.
  21. Prior, for me, definitely falls into that exception. That's the one named jersey I still have, and [expletive] anyone who thinks it's lame; him in 2003 makes it worth it. I went to a game with a friend a couple years ago who was baffled that the rest of us didn't think it was pathetic that we saw a few Derrek Lee jerseys. It was really weird. Then I saw him a few months later wearing a Fukudome shirsey and it all made sense.
  22. Heydongman.
  23. There will never be a Cub I detest more than that little turd.
  24. The distinction isn't likely to be all that meaningful though, if Heyward misses a chunk of time with injury he's even less likely to want to opt out. The exact details will be really crucial on his deal for a lot of reasons. It's probably all about timing. He could miss all of 2016 and be in a position where he would want to opt out after year three. https://youtu.be/j4cBRJXSNso
