  1. The only thing more annoying than a broken team is a loudly self-pitying broken team: http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-basketball/25423435/joakim-noah-remembers-his-bulls-teams-of-old-and-these-arent-it

  3. Lol really? If there were I hope it was before he saw a single professional AB. Oh yeah; it was definitely before he turned into an electrified hacking machine, but I thought it came up a couple times basically talking about his crazy swing and how he could generate power with it seemingly everywhere.
  4. Didn't Baez have some Vlad comps at some point?

  6. I think they miss Thibs and Butler is the guy to say it out loud Nah. They went from the guy they were sick of to someone completely different and Jimmy want someone in between.
  7. I'm gonna guess that about 60% of that group loves how Trump "tells it like it is."
  8. Damn, dude; start pulling out or something. Two kids at 21?
  9. He sounds enthused! yeah, between having to console his bawling wife and then at the end saying that after some thought he's "ok with it" he didn't sound crazy about it guess he doesn't realize the dong show he's about to witness roll the national league. Eh, it's always got to be tough to leave the team that drafted you and you came up with. The Cubs are projected to be damn good, but the Yankees are always the Yankees even when they're not so hot, and leaving NYC even for a city like Chicago can't help but seem like a downgrade. They'll win him over with the magic shows and dongs and petting zoos, though. And the winning. All of the sweet, sweet winning.
  10. Glad to hear Schwarber will be playing the majority, if not all, his games in the Outfield. I want Schwarber having nothing to do with a position that puts him at an increased risk to get hurt. Considering how good the lineup likely will be I wouldn't be opposed to dealing Montero in a salary dump move, and simply going with a tolerable veteran stopgap at the bottom of the order until Contreras is hopefully ready come August or September. As for a prediction for Soler's 2016 slash line, I won't get too excited and instead give what I think is a fairly realistic line of 275/345/450. Combined with tolerable defense that would represent a solid step in the right direction for his career. Yes, lets make our team worse. Yeah, I don't understand that at all; it's like he's saying to dump Montero just to dump him ASAP. It's not a salary dump if they're not spending it on something else. If Contreras is showing he needs to be up sooner rather than later they can still wait to trade Montero until later in the season.
  11. I heard it as "vacation in St. Louis" and I felt so, so bad for him.
  12. He's not a complete bastard; just lazy.
  13. It took me a long time to figure out that big time FA was something the Cubs were allowed to participate in on a regular basis. For the longest time it seemed like unless it was extending a player they already had (sometimes; losing Maddux like they did at the young age I was just instilled in me a sense that these guys were likely to be gone) or lucking in to the Dawson situation, the Cubs just didn't do such a thing.
  14. My ironclad theory is that so many of his highlight plays were him having to correct his dumbassery in terms of his routes, tracking and general positioning. And defensive metrics are sorcery. THIS IS ALL SOUND. LET IT BE KNOWN.
  15. For, like, three months.
  16. Yeah, yeah, I looked him up, too. Letting him in would be a wet duck fart. Borrrrrrrrrring. Not as lame as letting Dawson in, but close.
  17. Jim Edmonds? He'd be one of the poster boys for the "Hall of Very Good" thing.
  18. i feel kinda bad for them Me too, though this inexplicably made me crack up at my desk: Plus it was a guy named Tom Servo posting it. MST3K fans are good people!
  19. Careful, the Cardinals might be listening. The talk here is the Nationals are now going hard after Phillips, so the Reds look to be in fire sale-mode; I'd like to think that even the Reds aren't dumb enough to dump any big pieces in the division.
  20. i bet you like being plugged in, you pervert He's gotta be careful he doesn't get hooked: https://youtu.be/U3RjP6_TV0E
  21. He just sits there mashing a Monster cable into the port and sighing.
