  1. Eh, I'm with you on this, though I think it's mainly just frustration on my part at how relatively disappointing this team turned out to be dong-wise. Zobrist is obviously a very useful hitter to have, but the meatball in me wants a gigantic dong machine batting cleanup. I'd probably feel differently if Schwarber was playing and would be cool with it with another consistent dong-threat coming after Zobrist, but you either have streaky Russell, disappointing Soler and Heyward, or Contreras starting every 3rd game. Right now Baez feels like that threat, and I'd love to see him consistently hitting 4th or 5th.
  2. Didn't Jags fan turn out to have been in the Columbine shooting? I always thought he was at a college game. I mean, yeah, obviously, when you see it it's clear it's the Jags, but something about that dumb shade of blue screams "stupid college sports" when I pictured it in my head.
  3. I know the gif, but I couldn't have told you he was wearing a Jags t-shirt if you had a gun to my head. Also: drink all you want during a game; I was calling out the chumps crying about it the next day.
  4. wait, you're a jags fan? or was that some misguided projection Yeah, I didn't know what the heck he was talking about; I just figured he had some weird vendetta against Jags fans that he was randomly taking out on me.
  5. It's a sport run by garbage people and played by garbage people for garbage people. In a stunning upset, hockey has now overtaken it on my depth chart.
  6. Yeah, too bad I'm not a fan of a cool and awesome team like the Bears.
  7. The Bears are totally now and forever the NFC Browns. http://i.giphy.com/sI0vfkw04EV8I.gif
  8. Jesus, just watch a game for once without drinking, you animals.
  9. Now THIS is fun bad: http://deadspin.com/alshon-jeffery-suggests-revolutionary-new-strategy-we-1787881440 [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]
  10. DEATH TO FOOTBALL. DEATH TO BEARS (except baby ones).
  11. Exactly. I'm not opposed to putting Contreras or Soler into LF, moving Zobrist to 2B and Baez to SS to try and spark the offense, but for a team who relies so much on their defense, having some combination of Contreras, Soler and Zobrist manning the corners in LA seems a bit too dicey.
  12. Why do you say such horrifying things when I'm about to eat my lunch. The 5th best hitter on the best offense in baseball is objectively valuable. It was a (kinda) joke about how you'd think/hope there were more than 4 hitters on the team better than a fragile defensive monstrosity that you're lucky to see for half of the season.
  13. Well, replacing Russell is going to be because Baez is playing SS, and that's cool as hell.

  15. Really no doubt as to who Sloth would be on this team. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_tcJ6kNDIYyI/SyklM6bWGiI/AAAAAAAAA6k/O-nU1kHGJkg/s320/LACKEY+SLOTH.jpg
  16. I think Russell is the only one that should be moved; Heyward was already dropped in the lineup, and moving Rizzo doesn't seem very wise.
  17. Great, if the off chance they lose this series I'll be the one starting the final game thread. DON'T YOU PUT THAT EVIL ON ME, CUBS.
  18. Jesus CHRIST, man! There's just some things you don't talk about in public!
  19. I don't think that'll happen with Zobrist also in the OF, but it's worth a thought. I actually like the matchup of Soler against Hill, Jorge struggles the most with recognizing pitches that play off a fastball, his worst pitch values are sliders and changeups. Hill throws 90% fastballs and curves. Hmmmm. Soler in LF, move Zobrist back to 2B and have Baez play SS instead of Russell? Or is that too drastic to suddenly roll out in the playoffs?
  20. Is it really that big a deal if they're going to a "massive park?" Despite all of our dong talk, this is a team that is basically middle of the pack when it comes to home runs, so they don't exactly live and die by them. Dodgers are in the same boat, too.
  21. Yeah, but Rizzo seems to go through these stretches 2-3 times a season and then snap right out of it. Russell should be dropped in the lineup, but I'm not sure it'll happen if Heyward and Montero start Game 3. Yeah, ultimately I'm confident Rizzo will pull out of it (actually looked better tonight, IMO), but I agree with dropping Russell and putting Baez in his spot. Wouldn't mind Almora getting the start over Heyward, too.
  22. Rizzo does this and then ends up hitting 3 HRs in 2 games. Russell on the other hand......... Russell was very bad before the postseason started. He's had about a month of bad games. And he had other bad stretches, too. They can easily win with Russell not hitting; it's not nearly as much of an issue as Rizzo going through one of his slumps. Makes me REALLY miss Schwarber; the lineup is pretty barren of power right now once you get past Bryant until Baez comes up to bat.
