Yeah, benching Zobrist right now would be madness. He and Schwarber are hot as the sun's balls right now; I say you put them both in the OF if you can and let their divine bats make up for the unlikely defensive screwup. -

The Cleveland lineup isn't going to get much more righthanded, is it? If they could tolerate Soler's wretched (but sexy) presence in RF for a start, surely they can do the same for a guy in LF who is actually useful.

Well, my living grandmother is a White Sox fan (and was a NY Giants fan in her younger days), her husband was a White Sox fan when he was alive, my other grandmother didn't care about sports at all, and my OTHER grandfather was a Cubs fan, but he basically gave up on them and revealed some primo old man racism during the McGwire/Sosa home run battle. Ended up basically becoming a Braves fan in his final years because Chipper Jones was inexplicably suddenly his favorite baseball player. So, yeah, tough horsefeathers, gramps! -
This reminded me of something I was thinking about before Game 1. I imagined a conversation between Schwarber and La Stella when Schwarber came in to take his possible roster spot going something like the one Homer had with Darryl Strawberry: TLS: hey, you're Kyle Schwarber KS: Yes TLS: You're a left handed hitter KS: Yes TLS: I'm a left handed hitter, too KS: So... TLS: Well are you better than me? KS: Well... I haven't played all year, but yes These latest developments put all that mid-season La Stella drama into even sharper relief, don't they? I mean, you have all these teammates and management types praising Schwarber's commitment and work ethic and leadership -- and meanwhile, Tommy was pouting about spending some time in the minors. Not to re-litigate the episode while there are more important things to worry about, but wow, in retrospect the team showed remarkable restraint. With all of the awesomeness going on right now I can't imagine putting an ounce of thought towards La Stella at all. Like, I've already forgotten who he is while typing this post.

The man has been an amazingly bad dresser his entire life; like, what the horsefeathers is he wearing during this sketch? It's like a karate gi-style track suit. That was NEVER FASHIONABLE, even by terrible early 90's-standards.

Could Schwarber have DH'd for Heyward in rf and Arietta hit for himself tonight? And if so, would you have preferred that? No, he could not have. DH is for pitcher's spot only. I feel slightly vindicated at the wave of people revealing that they too didn't know that the DH could only hit for the pitcher like I revealed earlier this season. STUPID SOLIDARITY.

I doubt a cool, young person like Javier Baez has much knowledge of such an out of touch, irrelevant thing. What was he 9 then? DEPRESSING FACT: Javier Baez was born 2 years AFTER "Do the Bartman" came out. Unless you're talking about the human being Bartman, in which case I have nothing to add.
