Yeah, I'm struggling to feel super optimistic about this team suddenly turning it around; if it was just the starting pitching or the offense underperforming, fine...but that it's both? And that a team that was SO good defensively (and projected, like the offense, to dominate again this year) has seen that regress so much, too? It just seems like they need to turn so much around, and now it's a third of the way into the season. -
Did you know that Cubs have almost the worst team batting average in baseball? It's true! Only the Padres are worse. 18th in team OPS, 16th in OBP, 20th in slugging, 13th in dongs.... These are stanky times for a championship team.

If they lose this game, they'll be all of 3 wins off a 90 win pace. 5 wins off a 95 win pace. We've been spoiled by the super Cubs starting with Schwarber's arrival in 2015, but they're still in a spot where one streak puts them right back on track. Or another losing streak kicks them in the dicks. WOMP-WOMP.
