  1. #8 might as well be, "tell me who I should pick between LA or NYC."
  2. Hey, if this is just polite code, then I think we all agree.
  3. Everyone remembers it: it's one of many reasons why people think he's a dopey weirdo. I guess softness is something that comes and goes, coincidentally much like injuries. It's enigmatic, this softness.
  4. It's such a weird criticism. "KEEP BEING AWFUL AT THIS SPORT AND GETTING INJURED SO I DON'T THINK YOU'RE A [expletive]."
  5. http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/ceob.gif Rose is a goober, but calling a dude out for realizing he is basically now useless as a basketball player because injuries destroyed what made him valuable in the first place as being "soft" is super meatball-y. As opposed to, what, he hangs around milking name-recognition contracts for a few more years? That's somehow a better choice that would make him seem less "soft?" He’s quit on his team three times now. He’s on a one-year, vet minimum deal so he’s not milking anyone. He’s two weeks away from being back. Try to win a title this year and then retire. The dude is terrible, on a pace to have the worst season of his career and can't stay healthy. He's not quitting on his team; he's doing them a favor. Why sticking around under those circumstances is somehow more admirable or tough than realizing you have nothing left and walking away, hell, I'll never know.

  8. He's already got his new entrance music picked out and everything:
  9. Wilson's dead; trade him before the corpse stinks up the joint.
  10. Still...to just go to a football game, much less the stank Bears IN Philly? That must be one hell of a boat.
  11. Baez just thought he was posing for the camera with some Make-a-Wish kid.
  12. I recognized everyone except whoever the horsefeathers Borzello is, and Montero, since he looks like he's pushing 50 in real life and the photo quality makes him look like a 20-something stud.
  13. The Cardinals can sign whoever they want; it simply doesn't matter. Dead Cardinal Hell has already opened up and swallowed them.
  14. Amazing post/poster synergy going on here.
  15. Sounds like something a robot would say.
  16. I mean, that was true from the get-go.
  17. I have an ever growing list of family, friends and SO's birthdays and anniversaries because damned if I can remember 99% of them.
  18. I'll eat David's hat if he ends up somewhere other than the Yankees.
  19. If the Cubs miraculously signed Otani and then Drinky Joe kept trying to find ways to get him to the plate as much as possible... I'd slash the tires to his dumb RV every damn day.
  20. A distant 3rd though as much as I like to be a Chicago homer. It's not even close to LA and NY in terms of visibility globally so I really don't see the appeal of being "Chicago's Japanese star" being that much more than other slightly smaller metros. Eh they have/had the advantage of riding the coasts but traditionally those three are the big three in American entertainment. Chicago may have hit a lull post-Jordan but that only plays into the narrative that this is a franchise and city moving up and fast. CHICAGO: A CITY ON THE GRRRRRRRRR-OOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW, AIMIRITE??!? Dude, get a grip.
  21. Yeah, you hear about stuff like that happening with women being the perpetrators, but they're adults and out there looking to find some kind of relationship, no matter how many false pretenses it's built on. I just can't wrap my heard around this one because of how young she was. It starts of actually making sense: "young girl loves baseball and wants to write about it, but figures nobody will take her seriously so she makes up an online identity so her writing will hopefully get noticed." horsefeathers, that's practically the script treatment for a heartwarming family comedy. But then it veers wildly off course; as they point out in the article, there was little reason to create such an in depth persona in the world of online sports journalism. All she needed was the name and a bio blurb and the work. But she went so far out of her way to try to make this a person, AND then to try and have online relationships with people based around this complicated persona, AND then escalate that to pressuring people for nude pics and making crazy threats. Yiiiiiiiiiikes.
