  1. Jack Morris? Ugh. That's basically like putting Buehrle in the HoF.
  2. Was he responding to this? [tweet] [/tweet]
  3. I'm worryingly "meh" on what Lester is going to be going forward, too, so I'd much rather have me some Darvish if Cobb is going to cost a lot.
  4. Jeets rocking it in the FO:
  5. Well, he's also got nagging hamstring issues and basically broke his wrist from swinging the bat.
  6. Yes, PLEASE have the Cardinals panic and trade of some good prospects for a dude who will be gone after a year.
  7. Heed my words.
  8. Machado, maybe. But not Harper. They're not just going to completely ignore the luxury tax, and they've got their OF (and DH) pretty well covered now. Just brace for the pain now.
  9. The Yankees are still going to also get Harper or Machado after next season; don't kid yourselves.
  10. Poor Starlin. Yeah, talk about a brutal downgrade after being traded from one team of rising young stars with a long bright future ahead to another.
  11. If you're not going to consider Soler, a guy who had played in a high level foreign league and was highly sought after, then you're drawing from an incredibly narrow pool. Even on your list you have Darvish, who had a 50 million posting fee in Theo's first offseason when they were nowhere close to contention, and Tanaka, who has never hit 200 IP and is so good he decided not to opt out of that deal because his arm is held together with bits of string. I'd have liked to have any of those 3 too, but it's a big leap for me to be frustrated by the outcomes or to feel like there's been some persistent shortcoming. you're reading too much into my comments. i'd think that you would know that i know the significance of guys like soler, torres, and jimenez. i was talking about these top tier, major league ready guys that become big fun stories leading up to their decisions. i'm not complaining about our success in ifa. really i just want one of these japanese phenoms badly, so i made a short post to pout. The non-robots get you, dude.
  12. I love that [insert player] "doesn't want to be the guy" is the refrain of the spurned cards fan. "Ooh, look at you, mister, 'I want to be a part of a competitive team.' A REAL ballplayer would jump at the opportunity to headline a roster full of trash." maybe we don't "play in a desirable city." maybe we don't "win a lot of games." maybe our fans are "incredibly racist." and i guess we don't "have a chance in the division for the next ten years." maybe we do "condone drinking and driving and white-collar crime." This needs to always be bumped to the latest page.
  13. Unfortunately, PTR could only afford to make it look like something out of The Lawnmower Man.
  14. I remember that one usually being next to one that said something, like, "CARDINALS FANS LIKE IT IN THE PUJOLS," or something along those lines.
  15. It's insane that this existed: http://www.brooklynsteez.com/products/217936.png
  16. I don't remember any bandanas; just the monumentally stupid t-shirts and the rice hats. holy crap how do you not remember the bandannas Not all of us can afford the hard drive upgrade, buddy.
  17. Oh yeah. All of the other racism drowned out that racism for me, I guess.
  18. I don't remember any bandanas; just the monumentally stupid t-shirts and the rice hats.
  19. This is all true, but it makes me sad because besides him most of the pitching options range from butt to OK.
  20. horsefeathers, now I'm suddenly remembering that Lester is the baseball equivalent of 58 years-old. Sign some Cobb or Darvish to soothe my shattered nerves, stat.

Oh my god, this is my favorite post here of all time.
  22. Yeah, Stanton, Theo and Ohtani end up in a hotel room and things get WILD.
  23. Oh yeah; I forgot you were one of those Oregon reprobates.
