  1. The name Hunter Renfroe is like a punch to the spine.
  2. A Cubs SP set up to go into the 7th? What could possibly go wrong?
  3. Looking at Baez laying off those pitches via Gameday is kinda terrifying, like watching Skynet slowly figuring out that its alive.
  4. And here I thought we were in the clear for now because it was the 4th.
  5. And a 4.66 FIP Right but you were talking about giving up runs. He was just off in the sequencing; it's more like he tends to suck in the 1st, then again in the 3rd, and then REALLY suck in the 5th, with 4.50, 4.66 and 9.00 ERAs respectively: https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.fcgi?id=quintjo01&year=2018&t=p#innng::none
  6. Quintana has a 3.66 ERA since the 4/14 game against Atlanta where it was 34 degrees and sleeting the whole time. And a 4.66 FIP Yeah, dude's mostly been consistently butt all year. Hey, look at that slippery Seal Boy sauntering in to score via sac fly!
  7. Zobrist? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk Thats true, Zobrist is in a nice stretch too You dudes have a HUGE Contreras-shaped blind spot.
  8. Of course I get pulled away literally the pitch before Baez' dong.
  9. Hey, isn't that the Bears' QB batting 9th for the Padres?
  10. Quintana pitches like he's the human personification of a clenched butt.
  11. I'll enjoy tinyface's adventures from the leadoff spot a lot more when it's finally him, Bryant and Harper hitting 1-2-3; until then, it just reminds me how much of a MacGyver-ed together mess this team is right now run by a guy that even Bukowski would think is tying one on a little too hard (it's fun that this could apply to more than one person).
  12. Wait. Quintana pitched an efficient, painless, scoreless first inning?
  13. Knocking the helmet off? Still, I appreciate the effort.
  14. This is the 10th consecutive game the Cubs have batted a non-pitcher 9th. Yes, and for most of July they weren't doing that, hence, again, "more often than not." And, regardless, who gives a horsefeathers that they've gone back to batting the pitcher 8th when the 9th hitter has mostly been Seal Boy or Russell?
