  1. I'm putting this here just because... https://www.instagram.com/p/BnJkwWQFw--/?taken-by=pftompkins
  2. I really need someone to give me one of those, "the Cubs only have to play like this, and the Brewers would have to play like THIS," updates right now, because I have some creeping dread about the next series. If the Cubs win tonight and go 10-10 after...Brewers would need to go 14-5 to win the division outright. Oh yeah, that's the stuff. That's exactly what I wanted.
  3. This might be a hot take.............but I actually don't think it was a tough play at all. He just whiffed. He should have caught that. Definitely. Almora is just straight bumming it all around. He's a backup at best, and maybe not even that.
  4. Really not worried about Hamels walking Harper when there's a parade of bums after him.

  6. Damn, the Brewers almost blew it against the Giants.
  7. I guess he's gotta break up the black holes somehow.
  8. Go horsefeathers yourself, Joe.
  9. Seriously, did their plan to fix Chatwood involve hitting him in the arm with a bat or something?
  10. Exactly; on paper, this lineup should be one that's mostly in good shape to be competitive, yet because so many guys who are playing like turds or are hurt are racking up, it's essentially a forfeit lineup, which is insane.
  11. I still think Murphy, Baez, Rizzo, Bryant, Zobrist and Schwarber makes the offense potent enough, with any help from guys like Happ sprinkled in. I think. Murphy and Schwarber are platoon players and Zobrist gets sidelined by Oldmanitis every 3rd game or so. The parts are all there and then some, but it's crossing over into worst case scenario territory in terms of the sheer number of guys who are either hurt or terrible or both.
  12. Bryant, Contreras and Russell all looking useless at the plate with no sign of turning it around is....not ideal at this point. They can't jury-rig a broken starting rotation AND batting lineup; Almora's gone down in flames, Bote is back to being a nobody, Caratini is beyond bad, Happ is streaky at best, and Heyward is either shitty again or injured, take your pick. There's nobody left to offset this kinda horsefeathers like they were able to do earlier in the season.

  14. PackLandVA, hopefully you'll be around to start the thread for the second game today.
  15. This ump is the true abomination; Garcia's been robbed of 2 k's already.
  16. Go suck butts, ump; this dude needs all the help he can get.
  17. They basically have a window of 3-11 to cram these games in. That's an even worse band than Sublime!
