  1. A decent one....in theory. In practice, that 6-9 might as well be 4 pitchers.
  2. Apparently Saturday's start wasn't the right way to use him. I dunno; a blood sacrifice seemed pretty appropriate usage.
  3. Not even a week on, and this reads like a collection of Criswell predictions about the future. Duke, this really should be your new avatar:
  4. Joe puts out a wishful thinking lineup for a game that will never happen: [tweet] [/tweet]
  5. FUN WITH ARBITRARY ENDPOINTS: Since this thread was started, the Cubs are 2-4 with a -15 RD in that time.
  6. Whenever the horsefeathers the next game starts, philosophizer75 is next with the game thread. If he never shows, it's Ding Dong.
  7. There is no horsefeathering way they play today, unless MLB moronically wants to try and wait until 8 PM or so, and even then there's only about a 50/50 chance at best of it not raining the entire night.
  8. minnesotacubsfan turned into sulley so slowly I didn't even notice it happening.
  9. I think everyone would have been happy with 6-5 which if my some miracle they play tomorrow they can still attain. Brewers will cool off when they hit the road, plus we are in Chicago for all but 3 games to finish the season Yeah, the earlier post about how the Brewers need to play if the Cubs only go .500 the rest of the way combined with looking at the calendar has me much less annoyed. Next step is just one of Bryant, Russell or Contreras figuring it out.
  10. Oh, it's very consistent; he'll I'd probably want them to lose even more if I was riding high off of a satisfying Cubs win right now. We all have our blind spots. Yours is wrapped in a lack of understanding of hockey and, well, living in the beltway. As for the Bears, its easy to question your sanity being a Cubs fan and not a Bears fan. Some loooong explanation I’m sure, but 98% irrelevant, 2% theatrical exuberance for you and like 5 other people on earth. Go enjoy hurricane Florence. There's no long explanation: horsefeathers football, and double horsefeathers the Bears for wasting everyone's time by being a hilariously incompetent organization in a trash sport. Fortunately, more and more people are coming to their senses at least towards the former.
  11. I would like a rainout, the Brewers lose, we then sweep and lead by seven in the loss column by Wednesday night. Yeah, at this point I just want tomorrow rained out early on. Then there's not a game until Monday night and they're back home. Get back to Wrigley still in first regardless of the Brewers winning or losing last night night, and then take care of business knowing there's a normal off day finally at the end of that series.
  12. now this is my brand of erratic anger Oh, it's very consistent; he'll I'd probably want them to lose even more if I was riding high off of a satisfying Cubs win right now.
  13. I hope the Bears get absolutely annihilated.
  14. I really don't care to stay up and see what happens with tonight's debacle of a game; philosophizer75, you're up if they lose. Ding Dong Johnson, you're the backup in case he doesn't show in time...if there's even a game tomorrow.
  15. That's still cracking me up; a red-assed, hobo-looking weirdo who everyone associates with a division rival ends up on their Wall of Honor or whatever the horsefeathers because he had a whopping two good seasons with them out of a massive 7-year contract. It would be like the Cubs retiring Soriano's number, except Soriano was at least a chill dude.
  16. I'm hoping his struggles this year are mostly the result of nagging injury issues.
  17. Hahahah! Joe just throwing whatever he can out there.
  18. I still don’t think this will come to fruition. I expect us to take the series at Wrigley coming up. The Nats were always gonna give us trouble in their home park, no matter what. They got up 4-0 with Hamels on the mound. Gotta win those games late in the season like this. And against an absolutely garbage pitcher, too. Caratini's home run was adorable, but it was a complete fluke, and they looked hopeless otherwise.
  19. I still don’t think this will come to fruition. I expect us to take the series at Wrigley coming up. The Nats were always gonna give us trouble in their home park, no matter what. The only reason to assume that is because ANY team conceivably could give the Cubs trouble at this point, since the Nationals are an ass team at this point.
  20. This team's doing horsefeathers all in the playoffs.
  21. God, these games horsefeathering suck so much.
  22. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck, I thought it was the 8th.
  23. Gameday is stuck with one ball to Almora and La Stella still as the baserunner. Great.
