  1. Because throwing a baseball with your left hand at a moderate speed is a strange and wonderous ability.
  2. In related news, Wade Miller will eat less pork. This has been your Wade Miller report on the 8's.
  3. QFFT. If he can just get his breaking ball to break more consistently and get a little more power going, he's pretty much the real Prior again. It was nice seeing him strike out guys with a high fastball when he needed to.
  4. Wind blowing out to CF? Ouch. Against the Cardinals? Double-ouch. Rich has his work cut out for him. Fortunately, I'm banking that Aramis and Nevin continue their hot power streaks, and each goes yard at least once. Now if the Cubs could only remember what RBI's are...
  5. I was listening to the Mets' radio guys on XM, and they sounded baffled when they were talking about Rusch warming up in the pen...they couldn't figure out who he could possibly pitch against, since he basically sucked against everyone on the Mets he had a pitching history with. That's our Rusch!
  6. You only say this because it's always been true. Always being a very short time in this case, however. Like I said, I hope beyond hope that I'm wrong. But I don't think that I am.
  7. "I'LL GET YOU, DUSTY!!!" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/maproomsystems/blog2/drclaw.jpg
  8. This is when he should be used...I hate to say it, but you need his defense in close games. I could see if you had the lead, but I'm not sure his defense is more important than Walker's offense right now. The Cubs have 3 hits. Walker just got the last out...you want to try and win the game now at this point, not later.
  9. This is when he should be used...I hate to say it, but you need his defense in close games.
  10. Julio Franco is the oldest man to do anything ever.
  11. Get Nevin and Murton in there, NOW!!!
  12. Murton and Nevin Hey, it makes sense to us...I would have been happy with Dusty just getting one of them right.
  13. Not his best, but it was way too deep for the SS to be taking instead of the CF. Pierre is just plain awful out there. I know his arm sucks, but do his stats show that his CF fielding is crap, too? I always thought he was considered a pretty decent CF when it came to doing Hendry's favorite thing.
  14. Wuertz or Aardsma, please. And not playing Murton or Nevin today is beyond moronic.
  15. Cedeno needs to sit, like, yesterday. What an embarassing inning.
  16. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but...I'd rather see Neifi in there right now. *Flees*
  17. Pitching change? Great idea...good game, Prior! Bringing in Ohman to face a rightie? Way to go, Dusty. Ass.
  18. If the Cubs could net Abreu for Barrett, holy crap, do it. Offense with a catcher is a nice bonus...a big bat in the OF is beyond critical at this point.
  19. I see zero reason to make him pitch every 5 days short of him dominating today for at least 6 full innings. Put him on a 10 day rotation and split his 5 day spots with Guzman and give both a chance to work off their injuries.
