  1. I think Cedeno is going to be Izturis without the arthritis at the very best.
  2. Wow. I've never seen someone start a thread on Cubs.com and it somehow accidentally ends up posted here. Weird!
  3. Well done escaping this crushing pit of futility and mediocrity known as the Chicago Cubs.
  4. Watch...Maddux goes and plays 1 year in LA, and then the Cubs sign him back for his final year for $15 million.
  5. I've been saying that on a daily basis this year... May I suggest: http://www.blogwaybaby.com/Baby%20Drinking%20Beer.jpg Might as well drink tap water in that case.
  6. To: The Chicago Cubs From: The Los Angeles Dodgers Re: YOINK! Message Body: "GOTCHA, BITCH!!!"
  7. I want to die. Is that a real quote? paraphrasing, but that was the jist. Ugh. I need a drink. Sorry, Hendry tapped it about an hour ago.
  8. Hendry has a drinking problem, and it's clearly destroying how he's doing his job. I say this in complete seriousness.
  9. Dude obviously just needs a change of scenery. Has Hendry met an injury-ruined player he doesn't like? He probably thinks Lee is better now than ever before since his wrist has all the power of a little girl's.
  10. I need to update my sig...it feels the Cubs are using my nads as a speed bag right now. The Dodgers have made a mockery out of the Cubs, what, half a dozen times in the last year when it comes to signings and trades. Christ...Hendry, I hope you choke.
  11. "Gooey sentimentality" is what makes sports fun. My job has no gooey sentimentality, and that's why people don't pay $50 for a seat watching people file reports in cubicles. I don't necessarily want a GM with too much of it, but if it didn't exist, what would be the point of watching sports? Isn't this supposed to be about fun? What's wrong with a little sentimentality? it's more fun watching good teams than teams i want to hug and write poems about. Yeah, because that's what everyone is talking about doing.

  13. That might be the dumbest thing coming from the Cubs' organization yet this year, and that's saying something. I personally have zero faith in Hill as a starter, but Christ, let him pitch at this point! The season is beyond gone, and how is he going to "graduate" if you don't give him a stretch of starts to see what he can do? GAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!
  14. Could you be more specific? Take your pick over the last 10 decades.
  15. You're talking like he's the equivalent of Rusch at this point.
  16. Exactly. Plus, he has plenty of playoff experience, so a contending team would find that handy.
  17. This is true and I have proof! It is a strange planet called 'National'; here they are in their native garb watching the mother ship land: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2006/07/10/mwF5xYhk.jpg To show how big zambrano is next to a mere mortal, it should be noted that Yadier Molina is standing in front of the 2. Awesome.
  18. While seeing them do this well against teams this good is superficially good and even fun, it couldn't happen at a worse possible time...the deadline is here and NOTHING of importance will get done because these idiots will think everything is fixed because of only 6 wins, Dusty and none of the other coaches will be fired...truly, it is the best of times, it is the blurst of times.
  19. It would be nice if Prior's 1st win came with the Cubs actually pushing for an extended winning streak. LET'S GO, KUBS!!!
  20. *Shudders violently*
