  1. Yes, I agree; this season is indeed a disappointment for many, many reasons. Don't at me just because you slobs have such low standards. Cubs fans are supposed to be fancy lads now, dammit; ACT LIKE IT.
  2. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. The hopes of winning the division on fire because of the shoulder of Bryant. I watched broken Baez bobbleheads glitter in the dark near the Wintrust Right Field Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain." "Time for the season to die."
  3. For the 800th time, 94 or 95 wins is not blowing the division. Especially when it’s due in large part to one player on a different team going Barry Bonds mode. We survived Carpenter going Bonds mode, and we may survive Yelich as well. Not to mention the injuries. Nobody is blowing anything. 800 times or 900, having a lead this late and then not having a lead is blowing it. Plus the Cubs are where there are also largely due to one of their guys playing out of his mind for most of the season....he just unfortunately fell out of that mode for the last month+.
  4. I wonder if they make a rookie carry around this bag for Bryant.
  5. horsefeathers, when the WS were consistently competitive in the 90's and the Cubs mostly were dog turds, Frank Thomas was pretty much my favorite player.
  6. Man, football has gotten REALLY bad. I don't know why any of you chumps are still watching it.
  7. Haven’t they jacked up ticket prices the last couple seasons? I feel like that could be just as big of a reason the attendance dropped as the play on the field. It's ridiculous how expensive the tickets are.
  8. FUN WITH ARBITRARY ENDPOINTS! Yeah, that 7-game win streak sure helps a lot when looking at it that way. Here are some more endpoints! Between August 1st and August 21st they went 10-8. And then, obviously, only 16-14 from August 29th until today.
  9. I’ll never forgive the Cards for not winning one game in that series. I'll never forgive the Cubs for losing both of their last two series against the Brewers.
  10. And they get to keep swinging their huge Yelich around for 3 more years, too. Meanwhile the Cubs will have an outfield made up of 8 platoon players after Harper ends his career running into the bricks.
  11. Why have two chances at the NLDS when you can only have one? I’m not saying it’s smart I’m just saying mentally I don’t wanna have to think about it I'm at the point where I weirdly just want the hole season to be over. Call it a wash and come back next year after a non-sham of an off season and pray horsefeathers doesn't go wonky again.
  12. Ah, yes; one facet of the vaunted VB theory, that still has a whole...*checks watch*...30 hours or so to finally manifest itself.
  13. Fortunately, you can chalk this one up to having the misfortune of facing a good starting pitcher, something which NEVER EVER EVER happens in the playoffs.
  14. Hey, it's at least better than the -.422 OPS Cubs.
  15. Liam Neeson, it's all come down to you.
  16. Man, that's been the problem all year.
  17. This team really has been reduced to the offense completely living and dying by one player. Baez's line over the last week is .240 .269 .320 .589; he pretty much has to do it all.
  18. I've come around. Willson is gonna be lucky to be Soto: Part Deux.
  19. It is pretty brutal when a team doesn't have a single serviceable catcher.
  20. This guy is a pretty good pitcher. The pitcher never matters for these reprobates.
