  1. We are gonna beat the Rockies so give it a week Out of the stadium.
  2. Not even MM can save them now.
  3. still joe is trash and i hope he has a bad night I really don't think today was on Joe. Pointlessly pulling Chavez for La Stella when he did is all on Joe.
  4. lol if you want to mistake "calmly" dismissing the brewers viability as a division opponent for 5 months as analysis, be my guest. I think we can line our posts up on the topic and let history judge that one. Again, no one, not even me of all people, was "freaking out in horsefeathering june." I was trying to explain to people like you that despite allllll the built-in benefits we go into the season with, the margin between what we were at that point in the season and what the brewers were at that point is the season was not wide enough for all the dismissive bragging. It's a lovely story but you keep leaving out the part where you blinked, apologized to Duke and jinxed the season. Those two could have saved the season with some angry, angry ass-sucking.
  5. I'm just gonna assume you're saying that the Cubs should hire Michael Schur as their manager, which is a fantastic idea.
  6. Acknowledging that's the reason isn't crying and moaning. An unbelievable 2 years doesn't really equate to an unbelievable month. But it's not THAT unbelievable; plenty of people here pined for Yelich to the Cubs because he's really, really good at baseball. Is he THIS good? Almost certainly not, but the middle ground between what he's shown he can be prior to 2018 and then what he's done this season points all too realistically to a game-changing player breaking out, and who a division rival has for cheap for a few more years.
  7. Schwarber did not shorten the lineup..hell his OPS of .826 was just under Rizzos. Russell collapsing, Bryants injury, and Willy falling off a map is what hurt the offense. I highly suspect Willy has been playing with a ton of injuries. Whenever anyone points to Schwarber's numbers, I go looking for numbers that show that he's really actually awful and I can't. They are solid numbers, but from just watching the games it feels like Schwarber is a giant black hole in the lineup. Maybe its because he has done historically bad in high leverage situations, but I can't remember the last time I thought 'oh good Schwarber is up', unless its a big situation where we need him to dong and I know he has the ability to do so although he never does. He's nowhere near awful; he's a very useful player, but he's a pretty strict platoon player. He's a good guy to have when the rest of the lineup hasn't died from exhaustion, but when it's down to nobody doing anything, that's when you're left wishing he had been the dong-crushing hit-monster everyone hoped he was going to be.
  8. What's more likely: that some version of next level-Yelich has been unlocked, or that I'm right to be mildly terrified that Kris Bryant seems to have a terminal case of nebulous "shoulder fatigue" that started WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY early in the season?
  9. Hey, it'sa me! Sammy-o!
  10. I hate that I think it really, really sucks that they have to play again tomorrow.
  11. I've reached the acceptance stage...and we get to do this all over again tomorrow. [expletive].
  12. Guys, the Cubs are going to lose the division to the Brewers via a Baez AB. This is not fun.
  13. A dog with a hat.
  14. I have a feeling that the 9th inning is going to be when they finally hit the tough stretch of their schedule.
  15. Look, the Brewers still have...*checks watch*...about 20 minutes to finally start to fade away.
  16. It's so terrible that they have to play more bad baseball tomorrow.
  17. If Kintzler induces a soft contact for the first time in his tenure on the Cubs and it results in a DP, I'm all the way back in and they're winning this.
  18. FJMFJMFJMFJMFJMFJMFJMFJMFJMFJMFJMFJM Makes stupid lineups. Can't manage a bullpen. Assembles horrendous coaching teams. They got what they needed out of him with a young team; move the horsefeathers on.
  19. Well, I guess it'll only be a vaunted celebration by a division rival at Wrigley.
  20. Al because Maddon thought Tommy La Stella had to face the Brewers' bullpen with nobody on, 2 outs, and Heyward after him. FJM
  21. Just walk him already. Get it over with and stop making him throw more pitches.
