I wouldn't know. I hate football. I used to like it before it was crammed down our throats. 40 years ago? Nah this is the first year I really seemed to notice it never left sportscenter. Between TO and Michael Vick and Pacman Jones and Tank Johnson. Just go away. NFL Live is on all year, is Baseball Tonight? Well, it's not like those stories that sports channels and programs would or even should ignore. -

Who knows, if Theriot continues to be good and Murton finally gets the chance to be a consistent producer, we could be looking at a couple halfway decent positional players from our system for the first time in forever. Does Murton really count since he came from the Red Sox system in the Nomar deal?

What's the big mystery? It's Sammy-syndrome. The guy almost gets drilled in the head, it spooks him, and ever since them he's swinging wide and standing a bit more off the plate. Maybe he gets over it...maybe he doesn't. I don't see it as anything that can really be "fixed" by anyone else except Lee. Even when he was hitting like he was before the incident with the Padres I still wanted the Cubs to go out and sign more of an impact #3 hitter after the season.

According to weather.com, it is apparently "t-storming" every hour of the day, even though it is not at the moment and hasn't been for a few hours. There is supposed to almost certainly be rain "tonight," but when exactly is "tonight?" Evening? Primetime? Overnight?

Radar showing a huge, hugly system bearing down on Chicago that'll probably with within a couple hours...it might end up helping that they don't start until 3. though the weather report between now and Tuesday seems like on and off rain. Blech.

35 AB's averages to about 7-8 games...why do you say "slump" like it's unusual for a player to slump that long?
