    Looking at the radar maps, they could get this one in without a delay possibly. Expand out to the national radar.

    Looks the game will start on time, but I expect a delay probably within an hour of that, maybe for an entire hour or more...after that, provided we don't get flooded out, the game should be able to be finished today. I hope Lilly works fast.

    hill is no more inconsistent than any of the other cub starters. i don't know why people keep saying otherwise. Where did he say otherwise in the post you quoted? There's a prevailing opinion (on this board, and maybe throughout MLB's fandom), that inconsistency is a "reason player X is bad." I would guess that abuck was reading between the lines (as I did) in mhuber's post... Rich Hill may be inconsistent, but he's not "bad" because of it. Right, but he didn't say he was any more or less inconsistent than any of the Cubs' other starters. by saying that he's inconsistent, don't you think that he's implying that he's more inconsistent than the other cubs or more inconsistent than most pitchers? I simply took it to mean that he was saying Rich Hill himself is or has been inconsistent since this thread is about Hill and not any of the other Cubs starters. I agree with that for a stretch of this season, but it looks like Hill has flipped it back. Hopefully the Cubs can start remembering how to hit the ball when he takes the mound. I do not, however, think that Hill is a "good or bad" only pitcher.

    Then why was everyone soo upset when Neifi and Izturis went 1-2 in the lineup last year? If it wouldn't matter if they batting 7th 8th, or 1-2, I don't see what the uproar was all about. Because by having Neifi and Izturis at 1-2 you are giving them more ab's than what they would get if they were batting 7-8. So lineup construction does matter...similarly...I've got to think that, with all respect to Mr. James, the pitches that Lee/Soriano/Ramirez sees (with one or two other power bats behind him) are much better than they'd be if it was Ramirez followed by the pitcher, or some other non-hitter...Maybe its just me, but I think lineup construction does matter.... Yep this is what I said earlier. The first post in all these quotes said "barring extreme examples." I'd say putting two guys who would likely be the worst hitters on almost any MLB team, Neifi and Izturius, would be an "extreme example."

    There is no game status right now. It's raining too hard for them to play and will continue to do so for the next long while still. Cool. what is the score, inning, game sit when the rain came, how did the Cubs and Cards seem to be doing etc. I'm asking this out of curiosity and not being a jerk...do you not have access to Gameday?

    No. You already had jinxed it. Pretty sure something one person says over the internet is relayed to Zambrano via the bat signal making him give up a hit. :) Thank you. I always wondered why no one seemed to know that not talking about it only really applies to the people actually in the dugout. Yeah, nobody "knew" that it didn't really do anything. Thank God you guys are here to wise us all up.
