    Is that because you are convinced that the weak hitting Felix Pie will be in the everyday line-up as well? Which could be tolerated if Hendry hadn't been oblivious about SS for the last year+.

    This thread is active because it's the closests thing to offseason activity that the Cubs have right now, and there's been at least shreds of validity to it along the way. Nothing indicates the Cub are doing anything to get a new SS, yet you want us to start a new thread to talk about their non-moves to get a new SS. Makes complete sense.

    This is a sad, sad day. I'm finally facing the reality of a Theriot/Cedeno tandem at SS, and I can't stop screaming and crying tears of blood.

    Absolutely ridiculous. If they were "desperate" to get him to hit elsewhere, they would have just switched him out last year and put a combo of, say, Murton and DeRosa at the top.

    Depends on the situation. If he's replacing Pie because Pie was dealt as part of a deal to net us Greene, hells yes he's better than Pie. Oh, if only...

    I don't think MacPhail can really be blamed for being "out of control." Sounds like he was trying to damage control his boss' insane whims.

    I haven't heard anything about Cedeno having trouble with partying. IIRC, Bruce confirmed that he was having a bit too much fun on Rush street. When I saw him at RFK when the Cubs played the Nationals in 2006 during pre-game warmups, there were a couple of comely young women calling out to him from the field level seats nearest him, talking like they had very much enjoyed the festivites the night before.

    What a monster. If they're getting the players rumored, this is a great deal for the O's, especially if they nab 2-3 of the names rumored for Roberts from the Cubs. Angelos is doing all he can to kill this team.

    And he can't slam into the bricks like he hits the wall in Anaheim, so there go those catches.

    I suppose it's possible that it is. Maybe signing Lofton before trading Pie would show that the Cubs have no problem giving up Pie, and maybe lessen his value?

    I don't know if it is just the pitchers generally being ahead of the hitters, but unless Cedeno shows something in ST, I don't see why we are considering him at SS, let alone the OF. This line is off Venezuelan Winter League pitching....come on Ronny. Those ae just his playoff numbers, not his regular winter league season numbers.
