I'm with you. I wish they could just build a new stadium on the land where Cabrini is in the process of being torn down. Bring the beachers, bricks, scoreboard and the red sign, plant some ivy and build a stadium that can seat at least 50,000 and has parking around it. To hell with Wrigleyville. It's a bunch of obnoxious frat bars and arrogant, jerkfaced residents who act like living near the Cubs is a burden. And you think the way to solve that is to move to Cabrini? Forget for a moment that what you propose is impossible, but if you move the Cubs to another neighborhood in Chicago, those same bars are going to follow, and the neighbors are going to have the same complaints. Seeing as the entire Cabrini area is in the middle of the successful process of generally trying to recover the neighborhood, you're not going to have the scores of "legacy" property and homeowners that are such a pain for the Cubs to deal with. I know bars and such would follow the stadium, which is why I said "to hell with Wrigleyville." It's nothing special in that regard. I'm also biased since I live like a mile away and my property value would go through the roof...though it is a prime spot tha would keep them in the city and finally give them the bigger and better stadium they deserve. More seats, more tickets, more money...ideally, even more money for the team.
