Except offense is better and more exciting than pitching (except for super nerds), so this is cool.

i don't even know that game duration is the issue, so much as big gaps of time where nothing horsefeathering happens and you gotta sit there and watch Bruce Bochy or whoever do their interminable waddle to the pitchers mound followed by eighteen meaningless warmup tosses before the same exercise gets repeated in two minutes after the new guy issues a walk it's the worst part of baseball and nobody likes it Some of that stuff is kinda fundamentally part of baseball though..... But they're not? A lot of it is just the product of changes in the game from different eras. It's not like a billion pitching changes is some kind of ingrained tradition over the history of the game.

Yeah I agree, its terrible. We bring Carl in and its clear right away that its one of his "doesn't have it" games. We have to sit there and watch him walk the bases loaded before we can bring in another pitcher? Stupid. Let's face it: it's not like Maddon would take him before this happened anyway.

They've got enough individual douchebros that can have at least as much reach as the main one. Oh, it'll totally only be a symbolic thing at best as opposed to actually taking them and their legions of garbage down, but it would still be hilarious.

I seem to recall that NSBB was pretty split over Theriot for a while. Plenty of people thought he was a raging goober (that's good), but a surprising number wanted him to keep getting playing time (that's bad). And even the former didn't do themselves any favors by tending to be initially wanting Ronny Cedeno instead of Theriot (that's really bad).

The amount of Theriot apparel I still see at games is obscene, and is one of the better arguments that this team deserves bad things to happen to it. Boy, Hollandsworth played a LOT less for the Cubs than I remember being furious over.
