He's not markedly worse this season than in any past seasons. Agreed. He's REALLY bad this season. Before it was just kind of goofy but now at times like it honestly seems like senility is creeping in. It's sad, really.

Better question is why the [expletive] do you take our hottest hitter out of the lineup? 4 straight multi hit games, and 6 out of the last 7 multi hit games, and Lou benches Byrd for Tyler [expletive] Colvin. The guy is an absolute moron. Has Byrd only had one day off so far this season? If so, I can kinda understand the decision to sit him when you've just clinched a series.

But that's not what you've been talking about. You're saying they need to go out and get a reliable guy as if it is known that the pitcher is a dependable reliever, and none of those guys were considered that when they moved for low-level prospects, hence why they were moved for low-level prospects. The vast majority of relievers moved for marginal prospects are not reliable pitchers and will not be reliable pitchers.

The Nationals had gotten off to a decent start, and they already had a pretty decent offense carrying over from last year. They're not going to be pushovers.
