Umm you realize 2 runs in 2 innings is a pretty damn good pace right? They were 0 for 8 last night with runners in scoring position and they haven't shown any consistency against anyone other than the Brewers. I guess I expect more from the middle of the line-up. Why? The 3-4 guys have been garbage most of the year.

I think comparing him to LeBron in this respect is a poor idea, considering LeBron is what 6'8 260? And Rose is 6'3 190? When LeBron bullrushes the lane it's almost impossible to get out of the way. Either he's going to knock your ass on the ground or blow right through you for a dunk. And he's quick and agile enough to get to a point before anyone can charge him. He's just a freakish athlete with his size and the agility and speed of a person much smaller than him. It's hard not to foul him when he gets in there. Exactly.

I think off the court Rose is a wuss, but he's been a beast on the court. Showing a lot more emotion and leadership on the court than last year. No he's not a cocky jackass or anything, or a player who thinks every foul against him is a crime against humanity, but he's got court swagger. Not enough. He's got as much as LeBron did after his second year He doesn't have enough, either. He's too goofy.

There is plenty to support the idea that Rose is too good at getting to the basket to avoid the foul calls. He's so skilled at avoiding contact that it's ironically working to his detriment. It's one thing to gripe about guys getting calls for relatively minor contact, but another to expect someone to get calls when he's avoiding getting touched. Rose has definitely been mugged at times, but expecting him to get calls when he somehow twists his way around everyone in the lane like some kind of snake powered by evil magic is silly.

He's not markedly worse this season than in any past seasons. Agreed. He's REALLY bad this season. Before it was just kind of goofy but now at times like it honestly seems like senility is creeping in. It's sad, really. I'm wondering if it isn't health related. That's what I'm thinking. People are getting defensive in this thread like Ron is being attacked for being Ron, but it's really just a couple of us pointing out that he sounds unusually confused and out of it, even for him. It's less an effort to "attack" him and more pointing out with concern that this is a guy who realistically should not be long for this job. He's not "just a fan" in the booth at this point.

Let's hope he's the real deal. Get him some playing time as the 4th OF and if he's for real trade Fukudome next offseason. Slow down. If his OF defense and his walks doesn't improve over the long run then he's going to have to keep hitting out of his mind to justify making him a starting RF. our current starting RF would have a hard time justifying himself as a starting RF So why compound such brilliant decision making? Especially when it's someone who is likely to be a light hitting corner OF AND nowhere near as good defensively.

Hence why I said I don't really care too much one way or the other. I have a preference but this isn't something I'm going to go crazy over.
