  1. Who has that in their minds? I just don't care that he states that he wants to be a starter. He should want to be a starter. He still has to demonstrate that he has anything left before he could do so, and he was saying all of this before a deal was signed. It would be the decision of anyone interested in him whether or not he could be talked into a bench role and whether or not he's even worth being signed for a bench role. If he wants to talk up his game, who gives a [expletive]? He still has to show he can back it up and it sounds like he can't even do that showing off to prospective signers.
  2. Here's hoping there's gonna be another one real soon.
  3. I think I made it pretty clear that it's ok for him to want to be a starter. I just said it wasn't smart of him to publically state that his aim is to be a starter when the team you are trying to sign with has already reportedly had concerns about him accepting a role player type position with the team. Unless the quotes were taken out of context, I guarantee you that his quotes were not received well in the Bulls org. And that's what I was saying. Jeez you jump to conclusions without even reading other posts. That's still a ridiculous conclusion, and yes, you're a crybaby, as anyone who's read even just two posts by you about any of the teams you cry over. Any player's goal should be to be a starter. It's asinine to expect someone to say otherwise. In what universe do you dwell where you expect players to come out and say "yeah, I really think my ceiling is being a bench player." Did you get wood when Corey Patterson said he thought he'd make a great #6 hitter?
  4. Why shouldn't his ultimate goal to be a starter again? Jeez, you two are a couple of crybabies.
  5. That's the Marlon Byrd specialty: he's always an aggressive hitter at the plate.
  6. Nobody can ever take enough shots at that.
  7. The Angels don't need a pitcher having a shitty year. If it's an effort to build for the future, fine, but if they want to win this year they have much more pressing needs.
  8. Yea after listening to him tonight, I think its pretty obvious he wants the job next year Lord, please, yes. Agreed. How old is Valentine? I am very intrigued by the idea of him managing us next year He's 60.

  10. . Cubs are gonna pound him around like they did Halladay.
  11. Colitis. The Cubs have a history of making trades for the sake of making trades. This was one. I don't know if the two losers the Cubs got are doing anything at this point. As for colitis, anyone who knows someone who's suffered from it knows they are some of the toughest people you'll find. Treatment for some people is on the level of cancer patients short of chemotherapy. I'm not surprised Pagan is successful in MLB now that his doctors found him the right treatment. This is a good case of why the Cubs suck at a lot of things involving winning baseball games. They do not do enough before they make a move. They just make moves. This wasn't a trade just to make a trade. He was traded because there was the opinion (from the Cubs' medical staff and Pagan's doctors) that there was a good chance he'd miss much of 2008, and he had already lost a ton of weight and strength (as his paltry 2008 slugging shows). It's great that he's rebounded, but he really didn't have a role on the 2008 club with the way his health had gone.
  12. Especially if the singles guy is hitting in front of the HR guy.
  13. The most commonly proposed scenario is Castro at 2nd and Lee at SS.
  14. Oh, right. I guess I just wasn't expecting a team to be actively seeking him.
