  1. I don't think it's nearly enough of a no-brainer. Personally, I think the absence of uppers is having much more of an impact on the offense over the years than cracking down on steroids. Are there many stimulants that last in the system long enough to effectively test urine for them, or are they doing hair tests? I honestly have no idea how they test for them.

  3. Wells [expletive] sucks. It's one thing when a guy becomes more hittable when he misses he spots, but he turns games into batting practice when he's off.
  4. It's too bad that the Eddie Vedder song is 90% horrible because the chorus is awesome to sing along with.
  5. Wait, I "bought into the T-Mac name?" How did I miss something that dumb the first go around?
  6. Sure there is. I could easily see the Pirates doing it just to get the additional ticket revenue from those fanbases coming to PNC.
  7. Lilly would win arbitration if the team offered 9.6M, and then the team has Lilly for 15M for one year, which isn't bad, but if you don't have it in your budget to drop 15M on a pitcher, it really messes things up. Above average 34 year old starting pitchers with decent health histories don't take a lot of 1 year contracts True, but he's not getting anywhere near $15 million a year anywhere else at his age.
  8. Soriano trotting around the outfield like a deer is a beautiful image.
  9. He better stay good or I'm gonna punch him in the throat.
  10. http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/photo/2010-06/54284616.jpg "It's not your job to make excuses! That's all you guys do good! It's either a *leg* thing or a *spiritual* thing, or a *psychological* thing, or a HEART ATTAAAAACK!!!" http://mlb.mlb.com/images/2008/09/07/SlFGiQCm.jpg "Who used heart attack?"' http://cdn0.sbnation.com/photo_images/931418/181744_Cubs_Dodgers_Baseball.jpg "....Me."
  11. [expletive], Wood [expletive] sucks this year.
  12. Actually, they'd make a pretty decent platoon, thought I'd take DeWitt full time over Fontenot, too, since he doesn't have such appalling splits and he's younger.
  13. I love the photo from the opposite angle that shows that the spaz charging Howry is clearly rattled by Howry not reacting at all.
  14. I think I'd rather have Dewitt instead of Johnson.
  15. Dewitt's better than all of the the Cubs' other 2B options right now. Yeah, not really saying much, but given how young and cheap he is I'd have no problem taking him on.
  16. Eh, he's definitely a hell of a lot better than Theriot this year, he's 6 years younger and he's a lot cheaper.
  17. But why? This isn't like basketball where horrible bad can lead to an amazing draft pick that can help immediately start turning your team around. Yeah, the higher pick is nice, but steering a baseball team to be "horrible bad" is a horrible plan. It just mires the team in crap for years to come, which heavily impacts revenue and further impedes efforts to improve the team. Draft picks are too much of a gamble to expressly "go for horrible bad."
  18. Wow is right. Wouldn't wanna be his roommate. [hack]It's for when the team shits the bed of the season after about week 6.[/hack]
  19. They need to tighten the leash on that boy.
  20. No. I think you're mistaken in what you think you're seeing since the ball hits the wall well below the foul below the foul pole and the HR line.
  21. What a silly comparison. Asik and Gibson vs. a guy was a game-changing starter. Again, he can talk all he wants; he has to back it up.
