  1. Ah-doy, of course.
  2. Huh...that definitely could be very interesting.
  3. I WANT IT BOTH WAYS, DAMMIT.
  4. The Cubs are still on my TV, more than 150 times a year because I HAVE DIRECTV i honestly don't understand why anyone who can get it doesn't. Because I don't feel like paying $180 to watch maybe half the games. There's so many on during the day that it's hard to justify paying that much for really so few games. My cable bill is way too high already. BUT MAN YOU REALLY NEED TO SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY YOU DONT HAVE AND GET IT EVEN AS JUST A STATUS SYMBOL TO TELL EVERYONE ON THE INTERNET HOW COOL YOU ARE!!! Holy [expletive].
  5. Of course. Do whatever it takes. Again, if LeBron still said no, who gives a [expletive]?
  6. Good point. Given Rose's personality it wouldn't surprise if it just didn't occur to him to be so "bold." My response was more based on the posts here making it sound like Rose was being all badass by not calling LeBron, when there's a good chance he was just too scared or clueless to do so, though I'd like to think management would have pressed him if that was the case.
  7. the strong, silent type. I like desperately positive sulley.
  8. Stoic, nothing. He comes across as almost painfully shy.
  9. Nothing Rose said would have ever gotten LeBron here. So with that in consideration... do you want our franchise player to be a guy begging for the services of an ego-maniac, or do you want him to be a guy saying "[expletive] that, I'm the man and I'm gonna show everybody by doing it myself" Rose has the attitude of a real competitor, just like Durant. They want to beat the best, not join them. Now, can Rose be that guy? I don't know, but I'm really glad he thinks he can be. I'm not saying Rose getting involved would have gotten LeBron here, but just [expletive] do it if it could help. There's a huge gulf between begging and what the article describes, though who gives a [expletive] if he had kissed some ass? Do what's best for your team and the bottom line is that getting LeBron would have been great for the Bulls. The confidence is great, but really, whoopdy-[expletive]-doo. [expletive] this [expletive] of "oh man, it's so awesome he didn't kiss LeBron's ass." [expletive] it, he should have been licking LeBron AND Wade's taints even if it just seemed like a sliver of a chance they would come to the Bulls. If he did that and this still went down as it did, oh well, go and kick the [expletive] out of them on the court. Doing nothing was just dumb, and all this talk about his 3-point shot better not be [expletive].
  10. The Cubs will not be on WGN much longer. Can't wait for that deal to end and then the Comcast one so that the Ricketts can roll out the Cubs' Network.
  11. What happened to all the posters who were bemoaning the crippling loss of Casey McGehee?
  12. Wow, Utley is signed through 2013? I had no idea why I thought his current deal was up after 2011. Is Howard's current deal through 2014 or 2015?
  13. No kidding. I can't believe WSR even considered them; unless they are DRASTICALLY increasing their payroll, they're not paying out for an FA like Aramis. Hell, look at the stupid contract they gave Howard; unless Utley is a moron and/or a saint, he's going to expect to get paid along those lines, too. The Phillies are going to be locking a ton of money in VERY few players within the near future.
  14. [expletive] Rose. Slobber all over that hog, you dumb [expletive].
  15. Maybe Rose has just become a dick.
  16. Probably not a day where it's too likely for him to come through...but I hope I'm wrong.
  17. Why is this such a huge relief to you? If they couldn't trade him they could just opt to not re-sign him after this season.
  18. Aramis *has* started hitting... Oh yeah: .455 .538 1.000 1.538 (7 days, and not counting tonight) .375 .412 .875 1.287 (14 days) .328 .381 .672 1.053 (28 days) Keep it going, Rammy.
  19. I never know why they do that. Same goes in the previous inning after Soriano singled in the 12th run with 2 out and Manual pulled his pitcher. What was the point? Lou being Lou. I'm a little surprised he didn't go straight to Marmol.
  20. Why even get Cashner up? Yeah, Howry sucks, but there's already 2 outs and still a 6-run lead. Just let him finish it.
  21. Good Lord... Nobody is making this into anything more than it is.
  22. Its nit that we arent enjoying it, we just dont expect more like it. No, it really is like some people can't enjoy it at all. Yes, we get it: we're all Cubs fans here so we know how the season has been going. How many times does someone have to make some variation of "oh, it won't last?" YES, WE GET IT.
  23. Jesus Christ, some of you just cannot enjoy a good game.
  24. i'm glad only because he's likely to exercise his player option after this season, and i don't want the cubs paying 14.6M next year to a guy who doesn't have it any more. we already have enough bad contracts. That's hardly a bad contract. it is if he can't hit any more. But he would have to go back to looking like old Aramis for basically the entire second half for that to be likely, in which case it certainly not be a bad contract if he didn't opt out. This is a fun start to the second half.
