Fantastically terrible analysis there, fella. For one, you seem to think that the team lost because the "veteran lineup" was out there, and not that it had anything to do with facing one of the best pitching teams in baseball. I'm sorry, are you under the impression that only rookies played during the win streak. Secondly, yes, Byrd has been awful as a #3 hitter...but you want to trade him because of that? I wouldn't mind selling high if the right deal could be had, but the Cubs don't have anyone available right now who can take over as a starting OF without the team facing too severe a drop in defense and/or offense, and what money they have is better served going after Dunn and pitching. Byrd won't be the #3 hitter next year, so who cares if he stinks as #3 hitter this year?
