  1. Mike Trout's slash is 382/593/882 - 563/272 and he's doing it with a 308 BABIP. He's turning into Bonds (4:1 BBK). Its absolutely nuts. I think everybody knew there was much room to grow still but if he can keep something like this up, holy horsefeathering horsefeathers. Sorry to derail the thread but I peeped his page a bit ago and Almora is so boring to talk about. The FO must still have enormous hopes for him. Yeah, well, I peed on Almora's page.
  2. So it's a warlock's curse then.
  3. What are Bryant's now, o wise Yoda Penis?
  4. I think this was actually the vaunted gyroball: [tweet] [/tweet]
  5. He will be joining Happ in Iowa when Russell comes back. I've been a big Happ defender, but I'm going to need to see pretty significant improvement in his AAA numbers before I want him back in Chicago. Striking out in 1/3rd of his ABs and getting on base at a .292 clip isn't going to cut it anywhere. Almora looks at that OBP and marvels at how anyone could possibly have one that high.
  6. Those last few pitches were pretty baller, and he is definitely showing small signs of improving. But he is, IMO, a pretty far way off from being fixed. Personally, I'd still have little to no confidence in him facing a not terrible team.
  7. I'm not angry at him; I'm annoyed with the FO.
  8. [tweet]https://twitter.com/sung_minkim/status/1117976752729378816[/tweet]
  9. Darvish was just OK. It's the freakin' Marlins, and the dude has already shown he can still rack up the k's while also still getting shellacked and/or walking everyone else.
  10. Though those 18 games in Sept/Oct. are actually what salvaged those 2nd half numbers from looking even worse. Go figure. Maybe he needs his mutant lumpy spine.
  11. I don’t think it came out until after the season but basically he was dealing with a back injury for a good amount of time and playing through it, iirc, sometime in the second half. Tracks with this damn org. Ugh.
  12. I don't remember either (SHOCKING). But as with Bryant, historical injuries with the Cubs don't do much to make me feel better in terms of hoping they'll get better.
  13. Second half of 2018 Kyle: .221 .323 .417 .740 BAbip: .272 tOPS+: 80 sOPS+: 103 wOBA: .304 wRC: 20 wRC+: 89 Take your pick. THE TREND OF STENCH CONTINUES.
  14. And he'll still be mediocre at best at 111 games this season.
  15. If he was on a team where he didn't have to be in the field, sure. I don't mind the Cubs having him around as a bench bat/sometimes platoon guy...but it seems more and more like the ship has sailed on him being any measure of THE guy like they had hoped out there. I'm just saying, if Theo and co. are determined to have these Frankenstein's monster-lineups, I would have preferred something like having to juggle Schwarber, Bryant, Baez and Machado between LF-3B-SS than what they're stuck with. Stupid greedy team.
  16. The window where his numbers were "great" was due to an even tinier sample size than the one you're griping about people reacting to. 3 games in March: .417 .462 1.000 1.462 11 games so far in April: .125 .205 .200 .405 He's projecting to be lucky to be a 2 WAR guy out there. He wasn't good in 2017, and his 2018 value was bolstered only if you go by Fangraphs' VERY generous appraisal of his defensive ability, which is looking more and more like something he would have to be able to sustain to justify keeping him as the main LF guy.
