It's a message board. It's a place of discussion, banter and debate. If you want just updates without said activities then pull up your [expletive] pants and go to any one of the zillions of sports blogs and news sites that simply report rumors and news. I move that the staff create locked update threads for events like this that only they can update so as to shut up the whiners and the rest of us can bull [expletive] in peace.

I hated it when it was signed. And going after him isn't what people hate. It's his contract, which you admit was ridiculous. Eh, not really all that ridiculous in terms of how you're automatically overpaying for talent. It wasn't the best signing given how much of his value comes from his defense, but monetarily he was going to be "technically" underpaid per year based on the two monster seasons he had prior to 2011. Yeah, it's pretty easy to argue that it's too big a contract, but it's likely not a Soriano or Ryan Howard-type monster.

How about Geo Soto too? Hm... no thanks? He's 29 years old and he isn't good behind the plate or at the plate. He hit .202 with RISP last year in 114 at-bats. Why do you believe he isn't good behind the plate? Is it because that is the only reason you can justify Koye Hill being played? He didn't hit well in any situation last year FTH? This Soto tangent is very, very un-Theo.

What does that even mean? Allow me to translate from my native language (trolling attention-seeker) to English. What he said roughly translates to "I'm bored, someone please argue with me so I can feel like I'm getting some attention in this thread." I actually hate to argue and haven't argued in this thread once. Just gave my opinions is all. And trying to control what a mess this thread has become. I'm all for silly threads but this is getting tiresome. Ugh, stop trying to pretend like you're not a raging anus every 10th post.

Eh, I think some perspective is being lost here. Yeah, it's frustrating, but we're talking about a holdup of a few days at the most. It's not like the postseason is done yet, so nobody's really missing out on too much time. If I was the RedSox I'd do the same. What do they got to lose? I didn't say they shouldn't be doing this. It makes sense they're trying to get whatever they can in return. My point is that at times it seems like the tone from some here is that this possibly won't get done, or that critical time is being lost by this dragging out a few extra days, and both ideas are just silly. Sillypants!
