Should I really have a problem with either? I'd prefer Maddux, but I'm not losing sleep if we end up with a different Theo/Hoyer-approved manager. I have to say, I'm not too enthused about a guy who resorts to talking about fantasy baseball when stats are brought up. And MacKanan just seems like an old goof. I really don't care what they say to the media; even guys like Maddon talk like a meatball in front of the press more often than not. My concern is how well the interviews with the FO went. And that they were even selected to interview in the first place. Right. But if they are the 3rd best out of 4 or 5 guys, they weren't necessarily all that great. Would they go for another round of interviews if the x amount of guys they liked from this batch turned them down? Or would they just hire the next best guy? But the point is that they were 4 or 5 guys targeted by our FO in the first place. That ideally already puts them at the top, or near the top, of the pack.
