  1. So is Shark just lucky so far?
  2. long story... No, just a stupid one.
  3. LA still makes infinitely more sense than Chicago even if he was saying no before. He apparently wants a big, glamorous city like NYC, and LA is basically the next best thing, and he wants a good team he'll be the star on. Would he be the star in LA right now? No, but Kobe is not long for the court, and then the team is all his. He apparently has zero interest in Chicago and it's Rose's team. I'd be all for trading for him just for one year if Rose was actually healthy, but it makes no [expletive] sense to do it with the year they're facing.
  4. Oh, so you're going to give up on it, right? If the Lakers do indeed get Howard, I guess the next 5 years won't be too enjoyable with the Heat/OKC/Lakers probably winning the next 5 titles. Those teams are and will be stacked. I will watch from afar and resent the fact that Chicago made zero effort to get serious about Howard. There was nothing to get serious about; he doesn't want to play here. Just like he didn't want to play in LA? LA had been in and out as a place he might end up at. It's been pretty clear from the start that Chicago essentially had and has zero chance to keep him.

  7. Ahhhhh, you're just bitching because you keep pretending like the 90's never happened. Or the 80's, for that matter. Or the 60's.

  9. It was funny when the one caller said the Cubs should keep Dempster cause if they win 20 games in a row, they'll be in it. Yeah, that was hilarious, which is why the host trumping it with the 3-5 years thing stood out to me.
  10. WSR is totally the "ooooh, Navy Seals!!!!" guy from Clerks.
  11. Missing "have" twice, missing a "not" and missing an "a." Plus an extra "e" in there.
  12. The douche hosting the rain delay show keeps chastising callers for not understanding that the Cubs' rebuild HAS to take 3-5 years. WHY WOULD ANYONE THINK THAT, AND IF THEY DO WHY WOULD THEY THINK IT'S ACCEPTABLE?
  13. Bitches don't know [expletive] about Soto.
  14. What about when 3 of them are to the same player?
  15. huh? He's got a goofy looking stance, at least from the front.
  16. That's 2010. In 52 PA. His total career PA against LH pitchers amounts to 153. Yes, those career numbers aren't bad, but they're inflated by the sample size. He barely faced any last year and he's not very good against them this year (the first time he's seeing them regularly as a fulltime starter).
  17. Yeah, he's way better than that bum Soto, AMIRITE. Soto's been frustrating for a while, obviously. But Valbuena's always hitting the ball hard, he's hit lefties well, and has shown surprising power, even to the opposite field. I like him a lot more than Stewart so far. I just find perception funny. Yeah, Soto had a monstrously bad start to the year, but to see you griping about Soto one page and then fawning over Luis Valbuena the next is pretty funny. And Valbuena's hit lefties well? .231 .268 .385 .653
  18. Yeah, he's way better than that bum Soto, AMIRITE.
  19. Uh, maybe you hadn't heard, but WSR talked about how the Cubs could add in JEFF BAKER to a deal. NOW WHO'S LAUGHING?
  20. Who would have guessed that Loria & Co. would try to whip up offseason enthusiasm for their new ballpark (that they didn't pay for but still stand to profit from) only to sell off their assets shortly thereafter? Pretty much everyone. Maybe I just missed it, but did they even really have all that much "hype?" Most of the stories seemed to revolve around how they DIDN'T get any of the big FA they were rumored to be in on except for Reyes.
