  1. The Pirates have an awesome color scheme, you massive oaf.
  2. Rizzo's hair is gross and WTF was that.
  3. Me be very happy if this is many of (largely meaningless) Opening Day starts for Shark.
  4. With the skinniest (AKA grittiest) batter you've ever seen. Will not miss WGN at all.
  5. One of the things I miss about DC is how relatively easy it was for me to get up to PNC. Love this ballpark.
  6. Pops and buzzes, baby. Somebody explain this to me because I'm, like, angry at numbers and stuff.
  7. He really sees the ball well and can swing a mean stick.
  8. I just assumed everyone was making fun of Aramis_Fan when they said something like that.
  9. The Cubs have too many holes to say that they have the "depth" to trade an asset as valuable as Castro. If Baez pans out then you make room for both of them between 3B, SS or 2B. There's essentially no chance they trade Castro.
  10. You'd trade Castro and Baez for Harper and add another top prospect? i would be accepting that trade like ron burgundy YES LETS MAKE THE DEAL AND THEN AFTERWARD MAYBE WE CAN HAVE LUNCH! every legitimate prospect we have is so far away that they're all lotto tickets. would you trade 100 bucks and two lotto tickets for 1000 bucks? Castro isnt a lotto ticket. I'd trade any 3 prospects for Harper, no Q. But a young stud SS and two prospects, one of whom could be a power hitting SS? Yikes. COULD is the key word here. Baez is nowhere near a lock, whereas Harper is already a monster.
  11. Yeah, really. It's pretty ridiculous how tiny the place is. Maybe they could swing this if they bought out the old Budweiser House and put it out there?
  12. Hahahahahah! Exactly.
  13. This is what I think as well. I don't think the ad cost the Cubs any money, but if it did I'm not upset with the Cubs. I'd be upset with Rahm. The ad sure didn't help, but I just don't see a scenario where Rahm could have effectively given the Cubs $150 million dollars (regardless of the exact details, that's how it would have been spun) and it wouldn't have blown up in his face. The timing just wasn't right.
  14. I really think the Joe Ricketts stuff was ultimately just an out for Rahm to make a big stink and make it easier for him to refuse the Cubs on any public funding requests. With the current economic status of the city there was basically no way they could sell giving the Cubs a ton of money without too many people getting pissed off.
  15. I sure as hell wouldn't need an historically comical overpay to part ways with Castro. Alright, let's hear this.
  16. If Baez works out then you move one of them to 2B or 3B.
  17. That might be the most ridiculous bit of bull [expletive] ever posted here. Which is oddly impressive.
  18. I did because of the A's in 2002.
  19. I'll bet they're writing it off.
  20. You can display a LOT of ads and signs in 3+ hours. And those ads are limited to the 30,000 sets of eyeballs in the stadium. Are they more valuable than the fixed ads attached to the jumbotron that are seen by all in attendance plus every viewer on television, including highlights and still photos? Of course not.
