  1. Yeah, it might be unfair to this reliever to compare him to Pedro [expletive] Martinez, you stupid sacks of [expletive].
  2. Yeah, and apparently the Cubs should look to move Castro to the OF to make room. And they could not be rooting harder for the Cardinals to score this inning.
  3. Fully aware of what he's doing this year (though why is his defense rated so poorly?), and I still do that deal in a heartbeat.
  4. That seems contradictory to what Theo and Jed have spoken openly about in the past. That is incredibly depressing if true.
  5. Soriano still in God-mode with a double and a HR already.
  6. I'm saying "NO, GOD, THIS BONER IS NEVER GOING TO GO AWAY IF THAT'S ALL IT TAKES TO GET STANTON."
  7. So Castro maybe has fixed everything?
  8. Please, say it was a "frustrating" inning for the Cardinals just one more time.
  9. Garza's hideous bunting ability actually pays off.
  10. I'm a terrifying beastman, but least I have the decency to have a non-hideous haircut.
  11. My point was that in the next few weeks, we will trade several of the players who have been largely responsible for what success the Cubs have had. But I admit that I misused the term fire sale. Would have been a lot easier to just think for two seconds before posting something incorrect yet again. Don't care about the rest.
  12. What kind of weirdo gives a damn over something like a roofline? Goofy fucks on Twitter, that's who.
  13. What it comes to is that whenever you're wrong, which is a lot, you often just change your argument/point after the fact to try and duck that.
  14. Clearly not what a fire sale is. (Hint: letting contracts expire is not part of one) (Another hint: sending players to the minors is also not part of one) (A third hint: releasing players is also not part of a fire sale)
  15. Oh my: http://www.desmoinesregister.com/assets/blog-avatars/dmrdc5-67q69ytlv4xwv3sw7kg_.jpg
  16. Just wait for the fire sales that are happening at all times.
  17. Barney's mustered a whopping 0.3/0.4 WAR this year, so I don't think anyone would miss him.
  18. If Castro hasn't turned it around I promise to devour WSR alive.
  19. "The lights from the gigantic baseball stadium we knew was there when we moved in ARE REALLY BOTHERING US, Tom." And yeah, I'm sure there are some residents who have been there for more than 25 years. There's not a lot of them.
  20. Good point.
  21. Me too, but was it ever an issue that they "couldn't" do it so much as the Ricketts just never considered it? Given what the Cubs draw I'd have to assume that it wouldn't have taken much to convince the Sox or Brewers to such an arrangement for a nice little short term profit.
  22. With what they are paying Castro and Rizzo, they aren't expecting them to be the best players on the team. I still expect at least 1 mega free agent deal sometime in the next 2 offseasons. Who that will be is a mystery as there aren't likely too many big stars coming to free agency, especially hitters. They're not expecting them to necessarily be the best players, but they are gambling on them being at least really good.
  23. Yeah, The Plan is clearly hinged on Castro, Rizzo and Shark being consistently very good at the very least.
