  1. not really. the blackhawks are the class of the NHL, the bulls finished with the best record 2 straight years (and will be elite again this year if rose is okay), and the bears are usually at least interesting. Ew, hockey. And you're right about the Bulls; between their recent success and the majesty of the 90's they're basically singlehandedly saving the town from being a complete joke.
  2. So which is it? Aren't there guys who have stuck around the majors for years that you wouldn't consider consistent? Jason Marquis and Aaron Harang come to mind. They are good enough every now and then to get rotation spots somewhere every year and to me, that is what Jackson is. Whether or not that makes him a "consistent ML starter" is a matter of semantics. Jackson hasn't been a streaky pitcher where he's only "good enough every now and then." You're letting a bad and really unlucky first year cloud your judgement. Plus my point was that those two statements are completely at odds; how can he have been the same pitcher his whole career if he's not consistent? Unless you're saying his consistently inconsistent, which simply isn't the case.
  3. Sure, but both teams? Chicago is generally pretty bad at sports for being such a big market.
  4. So which is it?
  5. This is, like, your 8th post in 48 hours mentioning Olt. Why?
  6. It's beyond pathetic that both teams in a market like this are THAT bad.
  7. Jackson has been like the go-to dividing line in conversations I've had about the team this year.
  8. Wait, you really think the "coaches are bad?"
  9. They looked really good outside of the drops. Jay basically only had one, maybe two bad throws. Running game looked great, blocking looked good...I know it's Oakland, but still, fun first half.
  10. The pick sucked then and it'll still suck. I stand by my overreaction.
  11. http://www.lobshots.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Bernie-Jeter-and-Costanza.jpg YES.

  13. Well, I do recall either Theo or Hoyer recently saying that maybe just going back and doing his thing would be best for him. Right, but that's clearly not what they want. Plus there's other...stuff.
  14. How the [expletive] is this still delayed? I don't live that far from Wrigley and I've barely had any rain.
  15. It really is sounding more and more that Castro and the FO are at odds.
  16. Pretty much. The guys it would take to get Price I would much rather move for an impact bat, Stanton specifically. Normally I'd completely agree with this, but with the guys in the pipeline projected to have plenty of power/offense and the system sorely lacking any impact/power arms in the upper minors, it makes me reconsider. Now, is Price the right guy? That I'm not sold on for the reasons TT mentions, but I'm much more inclined to trade assets for TOR pitching at this point than a bat, despite the top 4 minor leaguers being no guarantees. I'd be fine with trading for a pitcher, but not one as overrated as Price with relatively little team control.

  18. If Baez isn't actually amazing when he shows up I will eat him.
  19. Whhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
  20. They only tied it, so this could effectively be a 5-inning "fake rally," so you might still have to cry your horrible tears.
