  2. Alright, jeez, we get it; you love A.J..
  3. There's a bajillion awesome bars if people are willing to walk a few blocks or take 1 or 2 L stops. I'm just saying that most people find the Wrigleyville thing real old real fast. But he's visiting Wrigley... And he goes to Wrigley, walks through Wrigleyville as one would do observing beasts in a zoo, and then enjoys some local bars and restaurants. Everybody wins.
  4. Exactly. Close enough to the park, but it's not packed.
  5. What bar was that? I always liked going to Sheffields, but haven't been in a real long time now. http://www.yelp.com/biz/johnny-o-hagans-irish-pub-and-restaurant-chicago

  7. The bar I liked best and was going to suggest three blocks south of Wrigley of course just closed, so that blows. The other one I like is a few blocks NW of the stadium, on Southport, called Cullen's. That's typically my go-to spot after a game. Great bar, good food. And if I want a quick bite before the game I just go to Al's, a couple blocks south on Clark. Basically my advice is to get away from the stadium before and after the game; Wrigleyville is a cesspool and you'll be fighting huge crowds for space in pretty average sports/frat bars.
  8. Reading YouTube comments is one of the quickest and surest ways to lose the remainder (or a good portion of) of your faith in humanity. True, though Yahoo comments still take the trophy.
  9. Only 5 comments until the n-bomb was dropped. Way to go, YouTube!
  10. NONE OF THOSE ARE STRIKES MIGUEL Jesus [expletive] Christ. If Baez can translate any of his "oh, I'm going to swing at this terrible pitch like I'm having a spine-snapping spasm yet somehow still hit out of the park"-power like that I will man-kiss him on the mouth.
  11. The flaws are super obvious from the beginning, but the fall off of the cliff starts about halfway through season 2.
  12. There's clearly people around Scully doing all of the research and just handing him things to read.
  13. He's been a useful starting pitcher for most of his career and the Cubs signed him for a good deal. What the hell were you expecting from him?
  14. Make 'em pay, Junior. How dare they doubt you.
  15. sounds down right "Rizzo-ish" Except in Japan. The land where Matt Murton and Tuffy Rhodes became hitting gods.
  16. Puig is only filled with dreams and rocket fuel, how dare you.
  17. Not so much knowing as it is hoping and praying.
  18. Nobody's thinks a pitcher being bad 70% of the time would be acceptable; the point is that your opinion over Jackson is all based on perception. To you he's inconsistent and any good outings are just outliers vs. his bad games being indicative of the pitcher he "really is." You've created a self-fulfilling prophecy where any bad or mediocre outing he has (regardless of how it's inevitable that all pitchers have bad outings, and the ones that aren't the best tend to have them on a fairly regular basis) is, to you, indicative of the "real Jackson." He's a serviceable, useful pitcher who is a good option to have who is having a rough year. It happens, but he's very likely to bounce back.
  19. Sure it is. He has starts where he looks like he's harnessed his stuff, and starts where he walks everyone and hit gets hit all over the park while striking out no one. That's been his whole career for the most part. That's the career of most pitchers. I mean, you have batters who look useful or even great about 30% of the time and then stink the other 70%. Its ridiculous.
  20. Doesn't get what? He wants to show his former team what he can do; so what? I'd have to think most guys who are traded probably have some variation of that attitude when playing their old team.
