  1. What are you talking about.
  2. This isn't baseball, where individuals have individualized progress that they control. Jay hasn't taken a huge noticeable step forward with the Bears, but he's been sabotaged by his own mess of a team. If you are going to judge the guy based on only if he takes a noticeable step forward under Trestman in year one under this system (the billionth "year one under this system" Cutler has dealt with) then you aren't getting a clear answer. But he has all the physical skills in the world. ALL OF THEM.

  4. Its really amazing we've amassed THIS much power coming thru the system. Especially when power was the major organizational weakness like two years ago. It's amazing how fast things can change when competent people in charge want them to change. http://i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/329/301/69e.gif
  5. Hilarious, but pretty damn lame situation in general. From the insane hypocrisy of the Red Sox fans to the ump pretending to have control of the situation to the Sox trying to fight...pathetic.
  6. The rehab gif is the stuff of legends.
  7. the fake rally is often the only point in the game where the cubs' offense does anything at all. if anything, it's the one highlight of most games. Pretty much.
  8. Not really, no. The Cubs scoring a couple runs there or loading the bases or even just doing what they did at least provided me with a fleeting glimpse of entertainment as opposed to if they just went down 1-2-3. I mean, if you're in such a hurry to have the game be over why are you still watching?
  9. Exactly what I was thinking. Yeah, it's saying something that with a team this bad in a game this bad that it was THAT PA that was annoying me the most. That tiny man is quite frustrating.
  10. Remember though, it will only happen because it is 6-1. And it didn't happen anyway. Yes, I understand there are weirdos here who think "fake rallies" are some of the worst possible things that can happen to them when watching a Cubs game. They are weird.
  11. Barney, you can take another [expletive] pitch any time now.
  12. Yeah, that sure would be horrible. Man! Jeez!
  13. not what you're talking about, but i like this throw a lot (and features michael barrett!) good god, those blue jays uniforms are hideous That's what Castillo gets for his flailing arms as he scampered around 3B.
  14. Prior to this year and the last I would have said no.
  15. I want him here, and I want that monstrosity statue-thing to come with him.
  16. Well, he did that last year with his awesome .311 .368 .475 .844 line in the final month after the previous three months were pretty underwhelming, but right now that last month is looking like it might be the epitome of false hope.
  17. I will instantly become Vogelbach's biggest fan if he starts rocking Kruk's monstrous mullet.
  18. Learn about this one weird weird keeper league that drives insurance companies CRAZY.
  19. Brett Jackson is gonna be selling cars in a couple of years. Hard to believe two years ago he was the #1 prospect in the system. Given the drafting track record of the FO that drafted him...nah.
  20. and that .750 OPS guy would be pretty nice if he's not supposed to be a centerpiece player. i'm ok with letting go back. Yeah, still a valuable player whether they keep or opt to trade him since he has such a reasonable contract. Anything to stop this slide into baseball-Ebola.
  21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38wx8C7VmB4
  22. Maybe he's just not the type of player that jives with the FO's preferred approach. Maybe they just need to let him go back to being the more aggressive hitter he was before instead of trying to make him more patient.
  23. there should be a thread for dumb baseball opinions we held as kids i used to tell everyone that shawon dunston was just as good, if not better, than ozzie smith I had complete reverence for Leon Durham, and hated Mark Grace for years for taking Durham's job. 13-year-old-me thought that Rick Wilkins was a god.
  24. I thought that that article would be the most depressing Castro-related news today, but then I had the pleasure of being at today's game.
