I still don't like him, but that's mostly based out of an inrrational response to his dumb-looking face. And he'll likely suck against lefities again soon.
Not really. So you had them with the best record in baseball on 4/20? Maybe if you were participating in 4/20, you would. It's a weird game; much, much stranger things have happened, plus it is, as you just pointed out yourself, only 4/20.
I didn't assume anything; he didn't really add anything new to make this depressing that they're not likely to extend him and it seems like they haven't had anything really great offered for him so far.
The stupidity of the philosophy does not make the implementation of that philosophy the right move. Dammit, don't make it look like that that's my quote.
yeah, if we're getting an A-ball guy i'd rather just hold onto him on the off-chance we accidentally re-sign him or someone offers something better down the line. doubly so if we're going to stupidly try to limit ourselves to the teams that happen to have catcher prospects. Yeah, though one of the most depressing parts seems to be that Samardzija simply wants out no matter what because he recognizes the Everlasting Turd surrounding him.
There isn't, really...outside of Mojo pointing out that neely thinks everyone overrates him. Yeah, I think someone once said Rizzo could be a "generational" talent and it basically flipped a switch in his head and now Rizzo and what he perceives as his faults is his go-to to bring up whenever he thinks people are being too hard on another player. And I think there was a time where someone either compared Rizzo to Trumbo or Goldschmidt and neely just could not let it go.
When I was in high school, of course I got picked on a ton. I didn't exactly deserve it, but I didn't make things easier on myself either. A common tactic was "toasting," which was knocking a kid's books all out of their hands in the hallways. I was hardly the only nerd in the class, so I figured maybe if I picked on a different loser I could up my status a little bit. One day after biology I snuck up behind this scrawny redheaded kid and went for it. I failed to actually knock any books out of his hand and almost fell down myself in the process. This is what you have been doing on NSBB lately. http://replygif.net/i/618.gif
Seriously. Leave it to abuck, imb, and occasionally treymon. Those guys are funny. I can barely be bothered to brush you off the nuts you are trying to hang off of here. http://replygif.net/i/1445.gif
And failing pretty badly. As usual, I'm winning. abuck's got the right idea in trying to be wittier without trying to be smarter. It's most of you's only hope. http://replygif.net/i/250.gif
Swing-and-miss percentage against righties: 2012 AA: 30.6% 2013 AAA: 37.5% 2014 MLB: 33.3% 2011-onward minor league OPS (because that's what minorleaguecentral covers): vs. L OPS: .960 vs. R OPS .790 And just visually, he's clearly got some holes in his swing vs. righties that MLB pitchers will exploit consistently. Right-handed breaking stuff completely befuddles him. I agree; Rizzo should be platooned.
If you stick to platooning him, you can squeeze some value out of him. If your roster is set up to platoon 3b, he's a good option for the short end of it. http://replygif.net/i/1448.gif
