I can squint and see a strategy of letting Happ readjust to major league pitching by using his one clear skill (patience, zone control) in a spot where he isn't going to get many strikes. Yet he got 40 games counting when he was on leave during the investigation. Herrera got 109 counting the time he was on leave, Torres got 100 and Osuna got 75 so why did Russell get just 40? Because he's lucky enough to be employed by a scumbag org.

That is an extreme allegation and one I would like to have some evidence behind before I label someone a wife beater. I can not doubt see a young player like Russell holding his money over his SO, or treating to leave her if he didn't get his way along with many of the other things that fall on the other side of MLB's DV policy. I'm not condoning those things or denying he didn't physically abuse here I personally need more to go there. Victim/accuser testimony is evidence.
