Did you go to famous Baltimore tourist attractions and a closed down restaurant?!?!? -
Just that I've been to Baltimore a lot (including the 2003 homestand against the Cubs, where you're not shy about where you're from), have a bunch of friends from or still living in Baltimore (most of whom are big sports fans and would have glommed on to something like that), and never encountered or heard anything about people from Chicago being hated there because of Irsay (or anything else). Sounds like maybe it was a generational thing.

You led a sheltered life. Try Fell's Point, Little Italy, Towson, Hunt Valley, Arbutus for starters. Everyone who goes to Baltimore goes to Fell's Point; the waterfront area is by far the city's biggest draw. The last three are unincorporated suburbs; that's like telling someone they need to go to Glen Ellyn to REALLY "get" Chicago.

I lived outside of DC for a long-ass time and spent tons of time in Baltimore; never encountered the whole "they hate people from Chicago" thing.

Plus DC is a weird area; it's a hugely transient population with people from all over the country, so looking at that as being the Orioles' fanbase as opposed to Baltimore itself and Maryland just doesn't work to begin with.

Not that it's necessary, but it would be kinda cool (in a meatball-y) way if they could someone who spent more than just a couple years or so with the team. I know he's not on there all the time, but the White Sox at least get Frank Thomas.

I'm just expecting Kaplan to be carted over to wherever they go. I'm REALLY hoping they aim higher than Todd [expletive] Hollandsworth in terms of former player analysis. Not that it's something that anyone really listens to, but I'd have to figure someone more meaningful and more entertaining would want to help launch a new Cubs TV era.

Imagine when the Cubs have their new TV setup in a few years and Hollandsworth is nowhere near it. I think I actually dislike him more than Kaplan.

less power, more speed, more willing to walk, imo I figured more patience, but I'm surprised at the speed. Cool; thanks. If you want someone more exact, maybe Victorino? That would be swell. What's the place to see those comp predictions in terms of specific players? I know BR will ultimately do their similarity lists, but what about something for a guy like Alcantara who doesn't have enough time under his belt yet?
