  1. I can't decide which is dumber, Russell Martin's jersey that reads J. Martin or Brendan Ryan's mustache.
  2. Hell..... I'd settle for a few regular runs. :amen: You rock, Fred
  3. It would be nice to take at least the Wild Card lead as a fallback to the division, in case something happens where we just cant catch the Cardinals. We're due for another crazy Cubs/Rockies game. Right now the Cubs control their own destiny. As long as they keep winning they aren't chasing anybody. The Cardinals need the Cubs to lose 3 more games than they do from here on out. If the Cubs play well enough to win the WC I think they'll take the division anyway.
  4. What do you mean realistically? I'm going to guess Harden is going to have to miss a start or two, and he should get some extra rest. Wells probably needs a break soon. And we don't even know how Lilly will be when he returns. Zambrano is always an internet session or spoiled banana away from missing a start. I think they need all the starters they can get and should keep all those guys available for starting the rest of the way, and shouldn't even consider for a second the idea of having Dempster close right now. I guess that would give everyone an average of 2 starts off. You make a strong point.

  6. If Gregg can't pull it together and we have 5 other reliable starters I wouldn't be opposed to giving it a shot. I don't care where the money has been spent it's all been spent with the intent to win a World Series so I say use it as such. If Dempster is pitching well, he's worth more to the team starting. And Gregg has been fine for most of the season, at least as good as Demspter would be. So you realistically think we can go with a Zambrano, Lilly, Harden, Wells, Dempster, Gorzelanny rotation for the rest of the way?

  8. I think Billy Ligue just found his true love.
  9. I wonder when the last time two opposing starting pitchers didn't even finish the day on their respective teams?
  10. Players have been doing their part lately. Hendry better be doing his. <24 hours to go
  11. Anybody think Pence will ever figure out the RF wall?
  12. Nice! Pence sucks playing that wall in RF
  13. Yeah, I recall that now. He wasn't hitting so well when he was in CF.
  14. Soriano. Fox or Hoffpauir would replace Soriano in left. Soriano in CF would probably be one of the most amusing things we've ever seen. Not around much in '07? I forgot about those 12 games

  16. If you watched Pete Rose play you wouldn't have to ask that question. Nobody would have questioned Pete Rose on betting on baseball as a player....it was when he was a manager he disrespected the game. Pete Rose, aka Charlie Hustle, is a HOF regardless of what Pete Rose, aka the Gambler did as a manager. My point is that it doesn't matter if he did it as a player or a manager. He didn't care enough about the game to respect it so why does he deserve to be respected by the game?
