  1. Vermette to Columbus for Pascal Leclaire I like the deal for Columbus, but I've always been a Vermette fan. Very solid two-way player. He's another offensive underachiever on Columbus, though. eta: Ottawa gets a 2nd rounder too. Very even trade.
  2. Trade deadline day...I have TSN's tradecenter audio feed thing up. I think this is gonna be a quiet day compared to the last few.
  3. that would be a horrible trade for the hawks. the difference from seabrook to pronger isn't THAT much, pronger is a [expletive], the hawks would be shedding a ton of scoring (Recchi blows, seriously), and they don't need an enforcer at all.
  4. there are only a few sellers at this point. new york, tampa, and atlanta are the only ones that immediately spring to mind. the kings don't sound like they're going to be doing anything.
  5. oh ok, i didn't actually look at the link, but 114 is way too high. so yeah, the winter classic is probably in there. i thought it was closer to 106 or something.
  6. Chicago has been high in attendance % all year, not just since the winter classic. i don't think it counts that game, though.
  7. our offense has gone icy again in the last couple of games. we're desperate though. jonathan quick is still good though.
  8. he has a .934 save percentage. that's just ridiculous.
  9. he made 19 saves for the shutout. give ken hitchcock the jack adams. tim thomas should get the vezina. and btw mason allowed 5 goals on 13 shots two games ago. just sayin. or give terry murray the jack adams, because apparently the qualifier for that is low shot totals against. thomas should win the vezina though. i thought he had split starts with fernandez a little more, but he's started a lot more games lately. he'll probably end up around 55 starts which is good enough with the numbers he's putting up. and i'd give claude julien the jack adams, just so we're clear. probably would give chara the norris too.
  10. ovie knows english pretty well. the nhl still doesn't market him because he's not north american. eta: at least not marketed as the best player in the nhl.
  11. to be fair, washington/pittsburgh is actually a pretty interesting matchup.
  12. Let Gregg close; I'd rather have Marmol as the fireman. i think he was saying he wants gregg to win the closer's role.
  13. Goal of the year. My Cap fan friends tell me that Ovechkin himself prefers this one: i do too. that was from 05-06 though.
  14. i thought it was pretty flimsy too. he even tried to brace to soften the impact. but i'll take it :D
  15. sorry lol the last 3 minutes, after kunitz's goal, were pretty textbook on how to win a game though. probably the first time i've said that about the kings this year.
  16. under
  17. Alex Ovechkin is some kind of amazing. Watch the highlights of his first (just in case, since it's only 1-1 right now) goal against Montreal tonight when you can.
  18. what a ridiculous game i can't believe we somehow didn't pull 2 points out of that, but still. what a game.
  19. thats a sleeeewwwww foot.
  20. If he goes on IR, does that clear cap space? Not to get ahead of ourselves, but this would no doubt put pressure on Dale to add a front line guy. it clears cap space if he goes on long-term IR. his cap hit is 3.725m, and he would need to be out for the rest of the season (since, after acquiring a player, they wouldn't be able to fit him back under the cap when he comes off IR) for a move to be made. you look at guys that are available and they're in that 4m range (Guerin, Weight, Tkachuk, etc). so there would need to be a little bit of financial finagling, but that could definitely call for another move if he's out for the year. if he's just out for the regular season, though, i don't know if i'd make a trade since the Hawks are pretty well locked into their spot. if he's out for the playoffs, too...then i would make a move.
