  1. first, hal gill is awful. second, he signed with the habs.
  2. cash isn't exchanged in NHL deals. the only way they'd get rid of him would be to take on a different bad contract. and that kind of defeats the purpose.
  3. havlat to minny from the sounds of things. "verbal agreement" according to darren dreger of tsn.
  4. I don't mind Madden as long as he is on the 3rd line. It looks like the centers are Toews/Bolland/Madden/Kopecky. Unless Bolland or Toews takes a big step forward, that's not a great bunch, but our strengths are going to be at wing and D. toews could easily take a big step forward. if bolland has another 50-ish point season as a 2nd line center, that's easily acecptable. madden is an excellent third line center. one of the more underrated in the game.
  5. havlat was rumored to montreal earlier in the day but I can't imagine they're going to allocate more money to him after signing cammalleri. i'm gonna GUESS new york, but i honestly have no idea. maybe minnesota. HOWEVER if the rumored deal (3 yrs/5m per) is true then maybe LA jumped back in the mix.
  6. khabi to edmonton
  7. You might be right. Everywhere I read that has since been pulled. You think he goes to Montreal? possibly. though they just spent a lot of money on jaroslav spacek apparently, and that's just bad. so we'll see.
  8. havlat isn't going to sign with the Kings, i'd bet good money on it.
  9. 3.5 per is alright though. it's lengthy but i think it's a good fit. 12 years is insane. wow.
  10. Another example of why he is not an above average defender as many people say he is. he's an above average left fielder which isn't hard considering he's athletic and most left fielders are like adam dunn.
  11. i'd guess that hossa and samuelsson are gone for sure. stuart is under contract for a few years.
  12. I'm trying to think of a worse hypothetical person than someone with all the worst qualities of NYers and Quebecois, and i'm drawing a blank. i'm thinking someone living in north dakota who works in journalism
  13. I guess there is the thought that the Kings may be going all out to become very competitive next season. Pronger would improve the PP. This coupled with the rumours of LA going after Heatley. I dont think this is a disastorous trade for the Kings, I would rather just keep Johnson though. This move would really help Anaheim keep Neidermayer without that big of a dropoff with Johnson. I am really not sure why the Kings would be wanting to help a division rival so much. If they are willing to move Johnson, I am sure there are established d men in the east that teams would be willing to move to give them some cap space. the thing is, if they move johnson, they have 2 decent prospects to replace him right away in Hickey and Voinov (and maybe Teubert, though he's still a bit off imo) without sacrificing too much (mostly since Johnson hasn't been that good yet). even without johnson, their D is passable Doughty, Quincey, Greene, Harrold, O'Donnell + one of the kids isn't atrocious with their new committment to defense that they showed last year. I'd rather they keep Johnson and acquire scoring help (Heatley, Lecavalier, Gaborik, Havlat, and so on). That's where they need big help. I'd really rather keep Johnson and Frolov, though. those are the two names being thrown about in trades from the NHL roster. i think we have the pieces to make a big splash without giving up one of those two though.
  14. there's a rumor that the ducks sent pronger to the kings for johnson and the 5th overall pick..not a fan.
  15. ok it's not tweesa. welcome back ChuckCubs! it's not chuckcubs but i have a sneaking suspicion that she may also be a fan of ding dongs if you know what i mean
  16. Isn't extortion a crime itself? Extortion? WTF are you talking about? i don't think he knows how extortion works.
  17. this post is 12 kinds of nasty. if you read it that way.
  18. Sucks that a superstar is instantly immune to a suspension while clearly STARTING a fight with a player that had to throw punches with HIS GLOVES ON because he was jumped. Go choke on one, Campbell. superstars like scott walker and brendan morrow. pretty damn similar play to malkin's after watching the highlights. but i guess colin campbell just likes evgeni malkin, right? gimme a break. in case you weren't clear: morrow received an instigator for that and had his suspension revoked by the league.
  19. that suspension has been revoked so many times over. malkin isn't getting special treatment here.
  20. they can rescind the misconduct. usually the suspension is given to a goon who's sole misson is to stir things up at the end of the game, and I agree with that. without seeing the play, my guess is that malkin didn't get on the ice for his shift and just look for someone to jump. maybe he did, i dunno. I think that's a dumb rule... he instigated the fight with under 5 minutes left and should be penalized as such. Not going to happen like both of you said, but the rules need to be followed. the point isn't to stop "instigating" necessarily, it's to stop goons from being goons in the last 5 minutes of the game, to stop that "message sending" non-sense.
  21. they can rescind the misconduct. usually the suspension is given to a goon who's sole misson is to stir things up at the end of the game, and I agree with that. without seeing the play, my guess is that malkin didn't get on the ice for his shift and just look for someone to jump. maybe he did, i dunno.
  22. you are wrong i am right you and cyno make it hard for me to believe there are any bigger whiners than the Hawks fans on this board for any team in any sport.
  23. I understand why a non Wing fan would dislike Maltby(his picture is in the dictionary under instigator). I dont understand Draper though. Pretty low key guy who plays a very solid defensive game and usually doesnt get involved in any kind of crap. Maltby is a pest, but I don't necessarily just hate pests. I think I hate those Wings because I hated them in the late 90's/early 00's when the Kings were actually somewhat competitive, and those two of the four that were with all of those teams (I should add that I hate Holmstrom too, forgot about him). Can't hate Lidstrom though.
