  1. i think i might be able to strike out troy glaus at this point
  2. on the bright side, jeff samardzija's ERA is worse than grabow's. wait, no, that's just a different shade of black. sorry.
  3. thank god that stayed in the park. thought it was gone off the bat.
  4. ugh rammy. something seems off about hitting into a DP on a hit and run or steal attempt or whatever the hell that was
  5. By harsh you mean excellent, right? What happened!?!?!? a joke that erik wouldn't appreciate
  6. lmao. even len sounded taken back by that. kosuke might have had 3rd there, but probably not worth it with lee up.
  7. hey they got it right, almost like they're major league umpires or something
  8. There's a 0% chance you would be complaining if either you were a Braves fan or if Heyward was on the Cubs. "Pujols' off and running" "Heyward's only one behind him" ...that was a little much it was also a joke you weirdo
  9. he's probably right though. he's actually a pretty smart guy and into numbers and stuff. he can probably see that last years team underachieved a bit, and assuming health, the offense could bounce back quite a bit. he can also see that the bullpen will probably be shaky and that silva and gorzelanny are in our rotation.
  10. The world would be a better place. because everyone would die of diabetes and humans would be gone from the world?
  11. And yet i'm STILL waiting for a response to my offer. You have 5 minutes. please stop I'm done with him. He's nothing but talk. I won't mention it in this game thread again. he's nothing but talk on a message board that involves nothing but talking. got it.
  12. Ok, who had page 19 of the opening day game thread in the "When will Erik call BALLGAME first" derby? i had page 21. cuss
  13. Unless there's something that spells out this piece of insanity, my money is on a terrible "when pigs fly" visual pun, especially given how corny the rest is. the goat curse is dead, hell has frozen over, and luck is on our side.
  14. that was a pretty ugly game for about 30 minutes and then the hawks took over. not much fun to watch from my standpoint.
  15. i did have to laugh at seabrook's reaction though. it looked like he was shot in an old western.
  16. hayward is the absolute worst commentator i have ever heard in my life. being forced to watch at least 3 games with him calling each season sucks.
  17. sopel is really bad. the only reason he blocks shots is because he's too slow to get out of the way. he does have a cannon shot though. that's his only positive.
  18. I think Seabrook and Keith have taken a big step back. Keith not as big, but his turnovers in our zone are very visible mistakes. Seabrook has looked pretty bad as the year has gone on. Honestly with their regressions, Campbells injury and the presence of Sopel in general, I'm wondering if defensemen, not goaltending, is the biggest weakness on this team. you guys give up like 4 shots a game. defense ain't your problem.
  19. i could understand one guy jumping up -- it's 4 on 4, i expect a little bit of aggressive play -- but both dmen (especially randy jones who is just f'in terrible) jumping into the play was bad. richardson's turnover was awful, but it should have just been another turnover. it shouldn't have ever led to the game winning goal, or at least not a breakaway. also was the missed call you were talking about earlier on doughty's high stick or am i completely spacing on something here? doughty's high stick wasn't a penalty.
  20. admiring how dreamy patrick sharp is? if they wanted to admire how handsome he is, they would've had a better view from their defensive zone.
  21. that was a great game but what an irritating finish. the two guys closest to sharp on his breakaway were stoll and richardson. they're forwards. WTF WAS OUR DEFENSE DOING?
