    the sharks *should* dominate the avalanche, but they're the sharks. so they probably won't. and they might even lose.

    i don't think there's any possible way they could think that. if i were on that team at this point, i would be so terrified of losing that i'd play tentative, maybe. afraid to make a mistake (this is joe thornton's problem, he plays like he's afraid he's going to have some deathly awful mistake that leads to the series winning goal for the other team). i don't think they can possibly be over-confident with how poor their postseason history is.

    i don't think they dominated. they controlled spurts, but it's not like they were pumping quality scoring chance after scoring chance at bryzgalov. i thought it was a pretty even game and ultimately by far the most fun of the 4 games to watch.

    ottawa didn't play very well but neither did pittsburgh. lots of shaky goaltending in that series. i only paid half attention to nj/phi, but it seemed like there were a lot of selfish plays by players on new jersey, not a lot of teamwork. they played well still, but they can play better. boucher was pretty solid, made a really nice save on kovalchuk early. the first 5 minutes of phoenix/detroit were more exciting than either of the first two games though. the west is so much more fun.

    heh, the twins game on mlb network ended and it cut to bonus coverage of the cubs game. that feed was behind my feed on mlb.tv. seems odd.

    i don't think he's managed this well from the get go. bringing in a loogy when lou would obviously PH baker in that spot doesn't seem particularly intelligent to me to begin with.

    he really shouldn't have come back out for the 7th. he lost his command in the 5th during the Bush PA and didn't look the same after. couldn't locate for crap and started nibbling. it's hard to blame lou with how bad the pen has been though.

    geo really has hit the ball hard early this season. glad to see him finally elevate one though.

    but you care about me right? you don't want me to have a heart attack and die, right? that might happen. it's possible. i'm afraid. i sure hope the hawks win the first round quickly. nashville is so boring and terrible. of course i want you to live a long and healthy life and continue being hilarious. but if we end up playing you i hope you have developed excellent coping skills by then. by my estimate, if we play you, it would be in the conference finals. if we get that far, we can lose every game 7-0 and i would by pretty happy. at that point i think i'd just be walking around in a happy fog, considering i expected this team to have to fight tooth and nail to get in rather than be in the playoff picture all season and never fall out of the top 8 and coast to 100 points and all that stuff. honestly, i'd rather the hawks win than any other team in the west.

    if the kings force a game to overtime, i'm not excited for it. i don't remember what it's like to be a real fan of a team in overtime in the playoffs. i might die. pray for me guys.

    that was a clear strike it was less of a strike than ball 2 well i missed ball 2 or something, but complaining about the umpire making a good call is kind of asinine.
