it's probably a good thing that the Hawks are slipping a bit with the Canucks biting at their heels. it will force them to play important games down the stretch. if they just played like this the rest of the way with no pressure and no possibility to move up or down, they would probably play lazy in the playoffs. hawks just look kinda flat. not too much energy. just a touch out of sync. i'm assuming this has been what it's been like lately judging by the comments in the thread. first goal was horrible. campbell apparently can't skate and walker looked pitifully unaware of the players on the ice around him. -

Crybaby and True Superstar mixed it up at all? nope. both of them have goals though. TONS of intensity from both teams, lots of scrums. very high pace to the game. just entertaining hockey.

the kings put on a clinic on protecting a lead in the last 15 minutes of the 3rd this afternoon. i think they're finally learning how to play with a lead in the 3rd. they've blown enough of them this year so far, so that's good to see.

i already requested a change to Alex Ovechkin i thought about Semin, but i figured the reaction to that name might be a little weird from the non-hockey fans.

that carcillo trade is really bad for the flyers the way i heard it. a 2nd rounder and upshall? upshall isn't amazing, but he's at worst a wash for carcillo.

Petteri Nokelainen to Anaheim for Steve Montador Jokinen (unofficially) to Calgary for Brandon Prust, Matthew Lombardi, and a 1st round pick. The speculation is that Calgary has another deal in place to clear up my cap space.

Jordan Leopold actually to Calgary. eta: Montreal 2nd rounder, prospect Ryan Wilson, and Lawerence Nycholat to Colorado. Andy Wozniewski to Pittsburgh for Danny Richmond. eta2: Mikael Tellqvist to Buffalo. didn't feel this one warranted a new post lol. Toronto claimed Martin Gerber and Erik Reitz. Dallas claimed Brendan Morrison. Pittsburgh claimed Craig Adams.

i don't think so. everyone else trading for either one knows it too. they were both held out of their game last night, so them being on the block is not news to anyone. this is true, but if not being traded is an option, that creates more of a market. I think Pronger isnt really off the market. I think anaheim is just increasing his value. They are willing to keep him since he has one more year on his contract, but my guess is that they would trade him in a heartbeat if the right deal presented itself. A lot of talk about the Wings getting Moore, I dont get it myself. I think the Wings have several in house options just as good. i don't buy it. ken holland doesn't usually buy into the hype machine over a completely mediocre player. he'll maybe make a more low key guy (like Stuart last year), he wouldn't go after someone like Moore, where Toronto has been trying to hype him and he's overvalued right now.

lol Tim Connolly walked out of HSBC Arena earlier, which led the TSN analysts to agree that he was on the move. Then they said that the skate he walked out of was optional. He just signed a contract extension.

Brian Burke just flatout said that he was trading Dom Moore and Nik Antropov today. Fantastic.

Whoever gets Moore is making a bad trade...I think someone is going to give too much for Antropov, too, but he's at least a pretty solid player, imo. Moore is a 3rd liner that's been playing out of role this year.
