  1. Well, Coletti is an idiot, so we'll see.
  2. Ugh it's been ridiculous lately. I am gonna try to get out to the Iowa/51's series coming up.
  3.
  4. Pink Floyd had one #1 single ever. So they are worse than CCR too? Yes, but not for that reason.
  5. Eh, toughest choice for me so far. I'll go with The Doors.
  6. He's certainly not a Beane-player. My guess is San Diego.
  7. other than chris speier this doesn't really apply to the thread: I just drafted him in 1968 with the Boston Red Sox. Felt worth mentioning for no particular reason.
  8. "It seems like whoever pitches against him throws a heck of a game." Oh my. Anyways, another bad quote from Dusty.
  9. so basically I can't watch Z! pitch because I'm playing golf instead :( I guess I have to record this. This will be the first game I've recorded since the disasterous game against the Mets with hawkins pitching and such. So yeah, something is bound to go horrendously bad: the cubs will show up and play.
  10. You don't want to let Murton get hot here. He's 17-47 with 12 runs and 10 rbi. That would defeat the purpose of the platoon. And besides, Dusty's more powerful than you think. Did you see that HR Nevin hit last night ? Clutch. That's what's been missing this year in LF. Clutchness. The Cubs need that. I mean, we've got enough young guys in there already. True..but at least it is Pagan. We'll see more of what he can do. I mean, it could be Nevin! I'd love to see Murton there-I'm just glad this lineup is full of people who could possibly contribute in 2007. I am really not understanding this love-fest with Pagan lately. If people really believe Pagan is going to contribute to the team in 2007, the 07 team will be the worst team in the National League. Yeah I'm confused about this too. His only real contribution right now is a decent bench option. He hasn't been good. Neither has Murton, but Murton has much better potential.
  11. It would be too long. No good songs to match it.
  12. Wasn't it Ozzie who so eloquently said "F the cubs?" "F the Cubs" means something different in Venezuela. it's kind of like kissing your son.
  13. fielding percentage is still a horrible way to judge defense. The 2004 red sox hit the ball very very well. They ran a couple of hot pitchers through the WS with their very good hitting. I think this is right though. If I have someone wrong, feel free to correct me. Varitek is average. Mientkiewicz is very good. Bellhorn is average at best. Mueller is average. Cabrera is very good. Ramirez is below average. Johnny Damon is average with a poor arm. Trot Nixon is average at best. That's not exactly a solid defense, it's average.
  14. That's probably not true--or even close--but I'm way too lazy to actually look it up.
  15. watching prior get hit in the elbow almost brings tears to my eyes. unbelievably frustrating.
  16. hahaha, that's the first highlight I've seen of the HR against the Brewers. I was at that game though, the crowd went nuts. Great video.
  17. True, but who has the cooler name? i don't think JPJ walks all over Flea. Flea is damned good. The rest of the band is sketchy talent-wise, but since when did talent dictate how much people like music?
  18. no. Iron Maiden would have gotten killed as well Stupid non-metal heads. more like competing against the greatest band ever.
  19. I have thus far failed to see what the big deal is about Tool. I've never heard anything of theirs that impressed me much. Completely in agreement here. For a great many people, TOOL makes heavy metal something more than just noise and into something more artistic. It's loud, violent and gets you angry just like other heavy metal, but there is also a great artistic element to it as well. Eh, I like metal, but I still don't get the fancy for TOOL. And I listen to some *fairly* artsy music, so that's not the reason either.
  20. Out of curiosity, which stat(s) was this in regards to? Jones being 0-54 when in an 0-2 count. I'm assuming Morgan said there was no way Jones was that bad in a 0-2 count? he said there's no way anyone was that bad in that count. he also said we have too many stats. but i was laughing pretty hard with the "i'll look it up thing." I was picturing him thinking like this: Moran: Alright, time to look up Jacque Jones Moran: /walks into computer room Moran: I see you computer Computer: /sits there...menacingly. Moran: /goes zoolander on computer, walks into SNB booth, drops computer at feet of Jon Miller and says, "THE STATS ARE IN THERE!"
  21.

  23. Was he looking into the stands or ruining our season by not hustling down the first base line? Anyways, we need more stories like this.
  24. because i hate Robert Plante's voice, and outside of Bonham, I don't like the instruments either. i sort of like some of their hits, but most stuff just bores the hell out of me.
