yeah, but nobody is going to line up Ramirez with Beltre because Beltre was coming off a great season and everyone knows he's not worth his contract at this point.
Pie made an awkward looking diving catch. It was a nice catch but he was only in that position because he broke back on the ball. He made a nice running catch on the track in dead center. Also, on the 8-5 DP, he botched the play. He thought the inning was over but recovered in time to throw a dart to third base that was probably a missed call. The throw beat him but it looked like the tag was late. Restovich looked good.
Conversely, I'm going to stop following this game after that last inning. Leave while you're on top, no? That's what the guy sitting next to me at the game against the Brewers when DLee homered in the 8th.
I wouldn't bet on it. How many players in the Hendry era have received 5 year contracts (or longer)? He was willing to go five years to get Furcal. Luckily the Dodgers saved us on that one. Furcal would have been a huge upgrade over Cedeno. Cedeno is not 13m a year and has upside. Upgrade? Sure. But he hasn't been very good this year, certainly not worth his contract.
How many runs did Hill give up again? Well, there were two starts where a good offense could have won, but to say that Hill hasn't been mostly at fault in his losses is a little bit of bias against dusty.
