    why bat him 2nd? his offensive production is absolutely wasted there. his strength is his power. Put Barrett in the 2 hole and bat Soriano 5th-6th.

    Yeah, he started out real slow last year too (he was hitting around .230 in the end of May, if I recall correctly) but in 2004, he was strong pretty much all season. he was 267/333/506 at the end of May last year. His lowest month OPS-wise in '04 was 832 in August.

    When you are a garbage ball player batting 2nd in the lineup..that is what usually happens. Not Ceasar's fault. He sucks with the bat..blame the GM for getting him. Remember his glove is like driving in RBI's and is like a guy whos batting .350 :roll: Why can nobody just flat out say he is a great defensive SS? It always has to be qualified or with some flip remark about his hitting skills. If he makes a good play, the jokes start coming about his bat. He is a great defensive SS. The jokes about his glove driving in runs came from a quote from someone (hendry?) right after the trade.

    i know. you can actually make a case for jeter for mvp without throwing the word intangibles in there this year. http://www.hardballtimes.com/thtstats/main/?view=winshares He's tied for the lead in the AL in total win shares idiots will still argue that his "intangibles" give him the edge. I'd still put him behind a few others though.

    Has anyone read it? Looks interesting to me. Saw it at the library yesterday. Also picked up John Schuerholz's book. I heard Schuerholz's book was terrible, which surprised me. Anyways, opinions on either book?

    That would just show how stupid Baker is. No joke. yah.. you would prolly do better than Mr. Jim Fail Hendry.. probably? a chimp has a probable chance of doing a better job than hendry. mr. miles is almost a lock to do a better job, as are many of the posters here. Hell I'd do better. And I'm no baseball genius. I'd just come here and ask who I should get. NSBB should be allowed to run the Cubs. Funds? We'd find a way.
