  1. This man speaks the truth. Although I could certainly tolerate seeing Butler and/or USC pull off upsets.
  2. It is a mortal lock that one of these Midwest Region games will be a great game that we will wish Gus had announced.
  3. I'll feel much better if Florida loses tomorrow, but with my luck they'll probably go all the way. At times like this, I hate sports. Why couldn't I have grown up loving Duke, the Yankees and the Patriots? My life would be so much easier. I apologize to everyone on the board for these horrible words, I'm just in a very depressed mood right now. Exactly how I felt about 4 hours ago... You'll get over it eventually. I'm already partly over it. But usually, the morning after is the worst. Hopefully I don't break my hand from punching a wall. The morning after is terrible, especially for me. I have a 45 minute drive to work and I always listen to the local sportstalk station. In the morning, all they'll be talking about is the game tonight. Thus I have to either relive every moment of this game or not listen to sportstalk (probably what I'll do). Then, when I get to work, being the sportswriter, I'm expected to discuss the game with whoever wants to and, while that's normally an enjoyable part of the job, it'll suck in the morning. The good thing is, my boss (an OSU fan) is on vacation so I won't see him again until Monday. Luckily I don't have to wake up till noon tomorrow. I'm going to try to avoid reading the paper too. It's going to be depressing though on campus. Depressing for you? We won nine freakin games this year!
  4. In my case, it's 200 dollars or more, and I'm guessing you have a tad more money than I do. But I won't cry any rivers if SC beats the Heels. Go UNLV too.
  5. Don't you remember his tip-dunk in the B10 Championship where he broke the glass in the surrounding block with his primal scream? My friends and I spent all week leading up to the first round imitating that.
  6. ODEN!!! Two Elite 8 teams correct now with maybe three more to go (UNC, GTown, Florida) Really great effort dew - I underestimated your guys all tourney.
  7. i <3 bill raftery. He's awesome.
  8. Red Roof on Ontario is 120 a night, which when me and my buddies stay 4 to a room works out to be a pretty good value. (2 of us sleep on the floor)
  9. Why don't you go away til this game ends? It's a good thing for you that he picked the Buckeyes -- he doesn't know what he's doing. Judging by my bracket so far, I'm inclined to agree with you.
  10. Woo...TT's tip-in was electrifying. Huge win.
  11. Woohoo! My first correct pick of the round, UCLA. Now come on Buckeyes.
  12. No. of Sports Emmy Award Nominations Gus Johnson: 1 Steve Stone: 0 Joe Morgan: 2
  13. You guys need to stop, I keep having to remind myself it's a full 10 more days I have to wait.
  14. I would like Memphis to win. So this is not good.
  15. And that was a flat-out stupid foul in every possible sense of the word by Rush.
  16. WOO Salukis
  17. Ozzie Guillen is a horrible, horrible, horrible manager.
  18. Kent Mercker - his name has been used in vain by far too many on this board
  19. Horford Horford Horford. I would love that. Thirded. Horford's going to dominate.
  20. I desperately need SIU to win.
  21. C Posada 1B Howard 2B Utley SS Rollins 3B ARam LF Dunn CF Soriano RF Dye DH Ortiz Come on, do you really expect to score any runs with this lineup?
  22. Some of us have known how to spell his name for a few years now. :D
  23. He can make a really good punt/kick returner and change of pace back for some team willing to draft him.
  24. Link Gus Johnson's call of Ron Lewis's 3-pointer in the OSU-Xavier game. Such a great call, one that Simmons also addresses in his last basketball blog column. And my vote goes for Gus. Gus Johnson made the UCLA-Gonzaga game: (go to 1:53). I mean, how does it get better than this (got this from some blog): Considering the money on the line for me (I had UCLA making the title game, and that pick alone won me almost every pool I was in), I was probably losing it almost as much as Gus.
