  1. I thought those were their Sunday jerseys? And just say no to retros. I hate baseball retros even more than other sport's retros, which is a lot.
  2. The Panthers take Ryan Kalil, center out of USC. Can't have enough offensive lineman especially on our team. PM'd SCCubsFan
  3. fixed Dye, Iguchi, Podsednik and Thome - by way of defense, I offer that Thome was much better than anyone else on the board at my pick, and Podsednik was an autopick - I ran out of time looking for Kerry Wood (which turned out to pay off).
  4. Not really. A majority of the people who love Wrigley have seen games in other places, and can legitimately say that the new parks aren't even close. I have been to probably 1/2 of the newer parks, including the wonders that are Baltimore and Philly. NOT EVEN CLOSE. They dream of being as "baseball" as Wrigley is. It's about baseball, baseball by its nature is a game of history. I also believe it should be watched CAREFULLY, for the nuances that often are the deciding factors in the end... I travel for my job and try to see games when I can. Safeco is nice, as is Turner Field, AT&T Park is fantastic. All of which are better places to see a ballgame than Wrigley IMO. TURNER FIELD???
  5. The Sox/Twins game cancelled due to weather...too bad for one of my friends who went up there for the game, and also too bad for my fantasy team which inexplicably has four Sox on it.
  6. I live a 90-minute drive from Chicago and would never ever ever ever ever support a Wrigley removal unless we found out it had been built on massive amounts of radon and/or toxic waste - and even then I'd have to think about it. I'm going to 4 games this year and wish I could afford to/have the time to go to more.
  7. And so the QB controversy begins...
  8. It's a good thing there are no pools for this sort of thing because I would definitely pick the Bulls to make the Finals and probably get burned
  9. Dang, I was holding out a sliver of hope he'd fall to me somehow.
  10. Now in the 2 hole! Cavs still have to play at Detroit yet as well. Bulls vs NJ tomorrow in what would be a first-round playoff game if standings hold.
  11. Despite their desperate attempt to choke the game away, Heat are looking pretty solid here. Up 3 with 5.6 to go.
  12. Cavs down 13 late in the 3rd :D
  13. May this be the last time I EVER root for the Heat.
  14. As in we sweep them or they sweep us? That's the beauty of it - he's hedging his bets and not saying
  15. Yeah, that didn't hit him, and the Indians let two catchable flies drop due to the sun, and Hernandez tossed the ball into CF on a pickoff attempt. I can't remember for the life of me the last time the Cubs won a game like this.
  16. I think Pittsburgh could inch to a fourth or a third-place finish this season with some breaks. That said, I picked them fifth. I have no guts.
  17. Bottom line is that when Jason Marquis gives up one run in a start this season, we should win every freaking time because it won't happen often. Hill/Z/Miller this weekend should add up to 2 wins - it better. And by the way, have we started every season 1-2 in the history of mankind? Because it sure feels like it.
