    The Panthers take Reggie Nelson, safety from Florida. Carolina has two starting safeties - the injury-prone Colin Branch and the soon-to-be-retired Mike Minter. Nelson can step right in as a backup safety this year and slide into Minter's spot in 2008. Florida fans speak of Nelson in reverential tones, so he clearly has all the talent necessary to compete at the NFL level.

    What is it with Carr and Tuiasosopo and other retreads that we're considering? Draft someone in the third or fourth round or something. Besides, if we add Carr, then there'll be the inevitable three weeks when Delhomme sucks and everyone thinks "gee, maybe Carr can play".

    If that angers Browns fans, then they deserve the results their teams have had. It is the right pick, but most fans will want the sexy pick which means trying to get CJ, Peterson, or Quinn. The Ohio State base of the Browns fans wants nothing to do with Quinn.

    Hill keeps getting picked before I think of taking him. Of course, I try to avoid taking any Cubs unless they're the clear best pick.

    Mike Minter has restructured his contract and announced this is his last season. I'm going to miss him - solid player, hard worker, all class. He's been a Panther since I can remember.
